The Wait Goes On.

We will know the fate of our parish participants the McIntyre family, on Sunday evening in ‘Ireland’s Fittest Family’ as they slog it out with three other families in the semi-final. However, the question on everyone’s lips is will Aiden, Eoin, Niall and Clodagh make it through or will they be going home. The wait continues to see how they fare out as the going gets a lot tougher from here. Will they make it through to the final? or will they be going home?  Ireland’s Fittest Family is on Sunday evening at 6.30pm on RTE 1.

Best of Luck.

The pupils and staff of Scoil Lua Naofa Lorrha wish to extend the best of luck to the McIntyre family, Aiden, Eoin, Niall and Clodagh, all past pupils of the school (including dad Aiden), the very best of luck in the semi-final of Irelands Fittest Family. You are all a credit to the Lorrha parish.

Farm Succession.

Tackling farm succession can seem overwhelming. There are lots to consider and agree on, such as the wishes of individual family members, securing a sustainable income for the outgoing and incoming generations, as well as looking at other options if there isn’t an obvious successor in the family.  Indeed, for some the pressure to prepare for the future is so daunting that succession is an aspect of farming that is set aside.
ifac is hosting a webinar on the topic, titled “Farm Succession: Is it time to get everyone around the table?” at 8 pm on Thursday night the 9th of December. This in-depth look at how to successfully manage your farm succession will be chaired by Cork farmer and Chairman of Agri Aware, Alan Jagoe. The online event will feature a panel discussion with Declan McEvoy, Head of Tax with ifac and an AITI Chartered Tax Adviser (CTA); Philip O’Connor, Head of Farm Support with ifac; and Karen Walsh, Solicitor with Walsh & Partners Solicitors, Cork, and a regular media commentator on legal farming issues. The online event will also feature an Irish farmer, sharing their unique story and experience of Farm Succession.
To register to join the webinar on the evening of the 9th of December, visit www.ifac.ie or please click the link below:
