A group of over 40 ladies from North Tipp and South Offaly who competed in the Ladies Mini Marathon to raise money for charity. You can read about their achievement and see where the money went in the Midland Tribune this week. Can you pick out any local ladies in this photograph?
Community Market in Rathcabbin.
Lakeshore Community Market at Rathcabbin Hall on Saturday 10th August, 10am – 1pm Enjoy home grown vegetables, baking, local honey, crafts and a coffee morning. Volunteers welcome on the day to help.
Well Done William.
Well done to William Holmes, Rathcabbin who won 1st place in the mouth organ (15-18 years), in the Munster Fleadh Cheoil in Ennis recently. A member of the Roscrea Comhaltas, William loves his music and is indeed a lovely young musician. We wish his much success in the future.
Sympathy.
Sympathy is extended to Michael Quirke and family, Lorrha on the death of his sister Joan Carroll, Dublin which occurred after a long illness bravely borne, on Friday 26th July. After funeral Mass in St. Dominic’s Church, Millbrook Lawns. burial took place in Mount Venus Cemetery. May she rest in peace.

Commiserations.
Commiserations to Clodagh McIntyre and the Tipperary Intermediate camogie team who were beaten by Derry in the last round of the championship on Saturday last. However, the girls already had enough work done to see them to the knock out stages. Clodagh and the girls will now go on to play Galway in the All Ireland semi-final which is down for August 17th. Well done Clodagh.

GAA News
Senior Hurling: With Tipperary progressing to the All Ireland Senior & Under 20 Hurling Finals, the club championship won’t resume 1-2 September. Tipperary will play Templederry in round 2 of the O’Riain Cup in their next game.
Junior Hurling: Lorrha will play Silvermines in the North Junior ‘B’ Hurling Championship semi-final on Friday 16thAugust in Borrisokane at 7.00pm.
Junior Football: An understrength Lorrha were defeated 1-9 to 1-1 by Eire Og Annacarty in round 2 of the County Junior ‘B’ Football Championship in Templemore on Saturday. Lorrha will play Galtee Rovers in round 3 this Saturday in Borrisoleigh at 6.30pm needing a win to progress to the quarter finals.
Minor Hurling: The Minor hurlers earned their first win of the championship with a 2-17 to 0-15 victory over Portroe in Ballinderry last Wednesday with Michael Egan top scoring with 2-8. This Wednesday, 7th August, they play Ballinahinch/Templederry in Shallee @ 7.00pm while the final group game against Burgess will be played in Moatfield on a date to be confirmed.
Under 16: Lorrha Rovers Gaels played Borrisokane in Moatfield on Monday week last and won 1-19 to 2-7. They are through to the quarter finals which will be played on Monday 12th or Friday 16th August.
Tipperary: Well done to the under 20’s in their All Ireland semi-final against Wexford last Sunday.
Well done also to the Tipperary senior camogie team in their All Ireland quarter final against Limerick and to Clodagh McIntyre and the Intermediate team on progressing to the All Ireland semi-final.
All Ireland Final Tickets: will be redistributed among club members over the next week. We will reveal date of the draw in the coming days. There will be no tickets available online or in shops.
Tipperary GAA Clubs Draw: Congratulations to Fr John Donnelly who won €200 in the August Draw held last Friday. This was our third winner of the 2019/2020 Draw so far. We would ask all promoters to bring their accounts up to date ahead of the September draw.
