Good Luck.

The best of luck is extended to Joe, Adrian and the Junior hurling team when they take on Newport in the North Tipp championship final on Saturday 28th at 2.00pm in Dolla. All hope that the team can do the double and bring back silverware to the parish. Good luck lads.

MacEgan Curse

A short film on the re-enactment of MacEgan Curse will be shown on Saturday night October 28th at 9.00pm in Rathcabbin Hall. Admission is €5 and children €2 and all profit from this night will go to Rathcabbin Community Responder group. There will also be a C.D. recording of film on sale on the night priced at €10.

Our group responds to 999 calls for stroke, heart attack and choking from people living in the Rathcabbin area. Next training session in November. Variety Concert.

A variety concert will take place in Lorrha & Dorrha GAA Clubhouse, Moatfield, on Sunday, 29th October, commencing at 2.45pm.  Local artists will be taking part. This concert is in aid of the Ray of Sunshine/Building of Hope and the Lorrha Community Responder Group.  No admission charge – donation box.  House raffle and refreshments.  A great afternoon of entertainment promised.

Invitation.

Rathcabbin Players are presently reading a new comedy “Nobody’s Talking To Me” written by Tommy Marren. The play will be performed for six nights, January 18th – 21st & 28th & 29th in  Rathcabbin Hall. However, we would welcome more male and females to get involved in this production. Our next meeting with producer Marian Frawley will be on Tuesday night October 31st in Rathcabbin Hall at 8.30pm. If you would like to come along and do a reading, please do so, whether you live in the parish or not. We would love to see new faces, so don’t be shy, do come along. All welcome.

Church News.

Mass time for winter months will be, Lorrha on Sundays at 10.00am. Rathcabbin on Sundays at 11.30am. Redwood on Saturday evenings at 7.30pm commencing Saturday 4th November.
James Kilbane in fundraising concert in Rathcabbin Church on Saturday 18th November. Tickets now on sale. Please note that during the month of October we will pray the  Rosary before Mass  in the three Churches.

Lorrha Camogie.

The Lorrha Junior semi-final which was cancelled last week due to weather conditions will now be played on Sunday 29th October at 12 noon in the Camogie Pitch, The Ragg. The girls and management would welcome your support and we wish them well.

 

Fundraising Table Quiz.

Lorrha Juvenile club are holding a fundraising table quiz on Moatefield on Saturday night 11th November at 8.00pm. Raffle and spot prizes on the night. Please support.
Congratulations is extended to Donie Ryan, Derrinsallow, on winning last week’s GAA lotto jackpot of €9,450. Well done Donie.

Winter De-Clutter.

When cleaning out your wardrobe to make room for the winter collection, please remember Lorrha Development/Tidy Towns who continue to collect unwanted clothes throughout the year. Items of clothing must be clean and dry and in good condition please and we can supply bags if you want. We can also collect to make it easy for you, just call (086) 8647166, (086) 8493595 or (087) 2601413 with your name and details. Please note we cannot accept Duvets, bedding, household linen, pillows, cushions, carpets, rugs and mats including bath toilet and shower mats soiled or wet clothing but good quality unwanted clothing for re-use (not recycling). All money raised from all fundraising ventures is used for the ongoing work around Lorrha Village which helps to keep one adult employed.
