Sympathy is extended to Denise Hogan and family Rathcabbin on the sudden and unexpected death of her mother Maria McClearn Portumna which occurred on Wednesday January 5th. After funeral Mass on Sunday last in Portumna burial took place in St. Michael’s Cemetery. May she rest in peace.

The Carers Association (North Tipp) wish to thank all who supported their recent fundraiser with Richard Haslam. We would like especially to thank Richard and all our sponsors for their generous donations and to everyone who helped make the night such a great success.

Used Stamps.

Anyone who would like to dispose of their used stamps can send them to St. Patrick’s Missionary Society Kiltegan Co. Wicklow where they will be used for the continuation of missionaries working mostly with deprived and suffering children.

St. Ruadhan’s Active Retirement Association.

We would like to remind our members that we are returning to our normal weekly meetings on Wednesday 12th January 2011 in the Community Hall Lorrha and also that our annual membership is now due.

Music Classes.

Traditional music classes resume in Portumna from Thursday January 13th. All instruments catered for and exam prepared. Competitions also. Details available from ( 085) 2737695.


The postponed free concert featuring talent from the parish and beyond will now take place this Friday night 14th. from 7 to 9p.m. in St. Ruadhan’s Church Lorrha. All are welcome so do come along but please be in your seats by 6.50p.m.
