Lorrha Notes

Happy and Holy Easter to all readers.

The bad weather has played havoc with the ploughing. It’s also official that the last eight month’s is the wettest on record since the met station started to keep records.

North Tipp Ploughing.

A meeting of the ploughing members will take place on Wednesday night 27th in Paddy’s Terryglass at 8.30pm. All members are requested to attend. Membership is due and can be paid at this meeting.
Also on the agenda for discussion will be the topic of when we can proceed with the championships as the bad weather continues causing cancellations in many other counties too.  In the meantime follow us on facebook North Tipperary Ploughing, on Instagram north _tipp_ploughing and twitter Ntippploughing to keep up to date with progress.

Bogus Callers.

Gardai are asking the public to be alert to bogus tradesmen and rogue callers to your home. As the long days approach and the weather improves, gardai are expecting an increase in such people roaming the countryside . They will be offering services such as power washing, painting, cleaning gutters to repairing roofs and selling goods etc. The gardai say that these people prefer to target the more vulnerable and persons living alone and advise and encourage people not to engage with such callers. Don’t open your door to anyone before you have checked who it is and what they want. They can be intimidating and refuse to take no for an answer. Be vigilant when out and about and report suspicious persons/vehicles to the gardai immediately.

Good luck.

The best of luck to the Lorrha Senior hurling team and management who take on Loughmore Castleiney in Tony Reddin Park, Lorrha on Saturday coming March 30th at 5pm.
