Lorrha Notes

Cllr. Michael O’Meara welcomes the cleaning of site at Coolross Rathcabbin.

In the past few weeks Cllr. Michael O’Meara visited the site of Shannon Vermi Composting in Rathcabbin.  “I was presently surprised at the progress Tipperary County Council has made in clearing the waste from the site. I would estimate that up to 90% of the waste materials have now been removed” says Cllr. O’Meara. “This has been a long and protracted battle fought by the local people in the parish to have the site cleaned up and I am delighted to say that after almost 20 years this unfortunate saga is now coming to an end. The efficiency at which the contractors transported the materials must be noted.  As well as the Local Authority, I must also mention Cllr. Ger Darcy and Cllr. Jim Casey who “fought the good fight “  down through the years alongside myself for the result we see today.” says Cllr. O Meara.       Photo:  Rose Mannion.
