Rathcabbin Parsal for Perfect Weddinglayers will stage a two act comedy “Perfect Wedding”  in Rathcabbin Hall (R42 Y188)  from Thursday 23rd February to Sunday 26th February. Doors open at 7.15pm curtains up at 8pm. Admission €10. Booking is essential on (087) 2605647 between 6.30pm and 8pm.only please.

North Tipp Ploughing News.

North Tipp Ploughing committee will hold a meeting on Wednesday night 22nd February at 8.30pm in the Yanks, Borrisokane. All members are requested to attend.  Membership is also due and must be paid at this meeting please.
A Novice ploughing match will take place on Saturday March 4th. for male and females aged between 16 and 35 years. Anyone interested in participating please call the secretary Denis Cahalan on 087 779 3719 before February 22nd.
North Tipp ploughing championships will take place this year on Sunday March 5th on the lands of Joe Murphy, Ballylina, Ballingarry commencing at 2pm by kind permission. There won’t be any entry fee but there will be a bucket collection on the gate with the money raised donated to North Tipp Hospice.
Tickets are now on sale costing €5 each and all members are requested to sell their allotted allocation. The draw will take place on Saturday night 25th March in the Yanks Inn, Borrisokane.

Well done to Colm Fogarty, son of Willie and Dympna, Lorrha, who has been named North Tipp GAA Intermediate hurler of the year for 2022. Well deserved and a great achievement. Many good wishes are extended to you Colm.

Congratulations to Clodagh McIntyre and the Tipperary senior camogie squad who had a fine win over last year’s champions Galway in the first round of the league last week-end.

Camogie Registration.

Membership is now open for all young girls aged 8 years and upwards to join our u12 , U14 and U16 underage teams. The fee is €40 and can be paid online on www.foireann.ie

Nursing and Midwifery Talk.

Lorrha Historic Society will host Lisa McGeeney who will present her talk “Nursing and Midwifery in the Poor-Law Union of Nenagh and Borrisokane 1882-1923”. Based on her MA and recently published book on the subject, Lisa will be in The Shed at the Friars Tavern, Lorrha on Friday 3rd March at 8pm. Entry is €5.

Church News.

Wednesday 22nd February is Ash Wednesday. Mass in Rathcabbin Church at 7.30pm.
A Diocesan Collection will take place on the weekend of Sat 25th and Sun 26th Feb, which will be a special collection for the people of Turkey and Syria.  The collection is being channelled through Trócaire who are working with partners in the affected areas. Please give what you can. Thank you

Mass times in our parish are as follows. Monday Mornings at 9.30am in Lorrha Church (except Bank Holidays). Every Saturday evening at 6.30pm in Lorrha Church. Every Sunday morning at 11.30am in Rathcabbin Church.

Meeting.
Conversations about the future of our Church: The next phase is our three parishes meeting with Bishop Fintan, scheduled for Thursday 30th March 8pm. So, save the date now. Trip to Medjuorge.
A seven day trip to Medjourge will take place from 21st June 2023. The cost is €795 which includes flight and accommodation with meals included. Bus journey now only 25 minutes from Mostar to Medjourge. For further information contact Marie Fogarty on (087) 2826088.

Pilgrimage to Poland.

Fr. Brendan Quinlivan, Tulla will lead a pilgrimage to Poland from the 4th to the 11th October. Direct from Shannon, the cost is €995 which includes flights, taxes, baggage fees, all coaching and tours, all meals in 4 star accommodation in the centre of Krakow. Workshop.

Tipperary Sports Partnership is facilitating a workshop on How to Train as a Midlife Woman. This workshop will provide practical solutions & science based strategies for active women & to help those who wish to continue to perform as you age. The workshop will take place on Sat 4th March, in the Abbey Court Hotel, Nenagh from 9am to 1pm costing €20 + online booking fee. Booking is through www.tipperarysports.ie. Rathcabbin Hall Notes.

The committee are holding an Progressive 25 card game on St. Patrick’s Night 17th March at 8.30pm. All are invited.

GAA News.

There was No Winner of this weeks lotto jackpot of €15,000. The numbers drawn on 20 February were: 4-14-24-30.
No Match 3. Lucky Dips: Brendan Brennan, Chrissie Hough, Deirdre Lane, Sinead McEvoy.  Promoters: Madeleine Maher, Willie Maher, D&K Mannion.  The jackpot is now capped at €15,000 with follow-on jackpot value increasing. Team 4 in charge of next Monday’s draw. Thank you for your continued support.

Award: Congratulations to Colm Fogarty on the well-deserved honour of winning the North Tipperary intermediate hurler of the year for 2022.

Membership: Is now due. Players will not be allowed to train without it. Rates are as follows: €40 for juvenile and non-playing members. €60 for student with gym membership. €100 for adult with gym membership. You will not be covered in the club injury fund if your membership is not paid before the first training session. Membership can be paid on foireann or Clubforce, where you can also sign up for the lotto at a reduced rate.

Social Dancing: Continues this Friday at 9.30pm in the Tony Reddin Centre to the music of the Finbarr Dennehy band.
