Camogie News.

Congratulations to Caoimhe Kennedy, trainer of St Marys Secondary School, Nenagh who won a Munster camogie  final at the weekend. They are through to an All-Ireland semi-final in Wexford, and our club wish Caoimhe and all the team the best of luck.
Membership is now open for all young girls aged 8 years and upwards to join our u12 , U14 and U16 underage teams. The fee is €40 and can be paid online on www.foireann.ie

Church News.

Wednesday 1st February is the Feast of St. Brigid.
Thursday 2nd February is the Presentation of the Lord.
Friday 3rd February is the Feast of St. Blaise. Blessing of throats will take place after First Friday Mass in Lorrha Church at 7.30pm and again after Mass in both Lorrha and Rathcabbin on Saturday 4th and 5th Feb.
Conversations about the future of our Church will take place on Thursday 9th Feb. in the Abbey Court Hotel, Nenagh.
A day return bus to Divine Mercy conference on Saturday 18th February will be taking place. There will be fantastic international speakers for a great day of spiritual inspiration and refreshment. The cost is €80 for bus and entry ticket. Contact Seamus on (087) 2752578 for further information.
Mass times in our parish are as follows. Monday Mornings at 9.30am in Lorrha Church (except Bank Holidays). Every Saturday evening at 6.30pm in Lorrha Church. Every Sunday morning at 11.30am in Rathcabbin Church.

Trip to Medjuorge.
A seven day trip to Medjourge will take place from 21st June 2023. The cost is €795 which includes flight and accommodation with meals included. Bus journey now only 25 minutes from Mostar to Medjourge. For further information contact Marie Fogarty on (087) 2826088.

First Aid Course.

Lorrha National School are accepting enrolment for the 2023-2024 school year. Application forms can be downloaded from the school website lorrhans.ie, by email to luanaofa@gmail.com or by phone to (090) 9747295. Bus service is available on several routes.

North Tipp Ploughing News.

At the last meeting, a minutes silence was observed for the President of the North Tipp Ploughing, the late Eileen Duffy, Rathcabbin, who passed away at the end of November last. Eileen worked hard for the group’s annual championship’s, attending meetings and participated at many levels, serving the ploughing committee with distinction. Chairman, Ray Clancy, paying tribute said that Eileen was a valued member who will be badly missed. Her son Tom, thanked everyone for all their support during the days of the funeral and said the family appreciated all the help that the members gave. Many other people who passed away in recent months were also remembered.
The group are looking for a suitable site for the forthcoming Championships which will take place on Sunday 5th March. If anyone has a site or knows of a suitable venue, please call the secretary Denis Cahalan on 087 779 3719.
The AGM had to be postponed due to circumstances beyond the control of the committee and will take place at a later date.
Fundraising was discussed and after a lapse of three years, it was decided to go once again with the €5 ticket with all members required to sell their share.
The next meeting will take place on Thursday 9th February at 8.30pm in the Yanks, Borrisokane and this will be a very important meeting with the top item on the agenda focusing on the planning of the forthcoming championship. All members are requested to attend.

Redwood NS Open Evening:

Redwood NS Open Evening will be held on Tuesday 21st February from 7- 8.30pm. We invite any families and children hoping to enrol in September 2023 to come along. It is the ideal opportunity to visit the school, meet the staff and view the resources available to students. Forthcoming Production.

Members of Rathcabbin Players are busy rehearsing for their forthcoming production of the well known comedy ‘Perfect Wedding’. Written by Robin Hawdon and directed by Banagher man Jarred Madden, the play will be staged in Rathcabbin Hall from Thursday 23rd February to Sunday 26th February. The booking phone line will open soon, so watch this space for details.
