Late Nuala Dermody.

The death occurred on Tuesday 15th November 2022 in the excellent care of the wonderful staff at ICU, in Portincula Hospital, Ballinasloe of Nuala Dermody, Portland, Lorrha.
Née Reidy, Nuala was a native of  Tulla, Co. Clare. She came to teach in Borrisokane in the boy’s school in 1965 where she had a long and fulfilling teaching career and was very fond of her pupils. In 1966 she was to meet her future husband, Paddy in the Emerald Ballroom Ballinasloe and throughout their married life she was a dedicated wife and mother. Her home was always welcoming and she offered home cooking and warm hospitality to all who visited.
Nuala was blessed with great neighbours and friends. She was a member of the Apostolic Work Society where she was able to put her creative skills to great work, embroidering garments for the church and knitting and crocheting for children. She enjoyed her time in the ICA and the friendships she made there. Nuala was a Pioneer all her life and had great devotion to the Sacred Heart.
She has left a huge void and will be sadly missed by all her family. Her love will live on in the hearts of her husband Paddy, her sons Padraigh (Portlaoise) and Michéal and daughter Deirdre, her daughters-in-law Helena (Kelly) and Terry (Fingelton), her much cherished grandchildren Lauren, Ella, Conor, Jack and Liam, her brothers Seamus and Joseph, her sisters-in-law Lucy and Ena (Enright), her nieces, nephews, extended family, relatives, neighbours and friends. Her memory will live on in her family and community.
Nuala was predeceased by her beloved sister Kathleen (Collins), her infant sister Brid, her father Michael and her mother Mary Kate.
