Birthday Greetings.

Congratulations and happy birthday is extended to Clodagh McIntyre who celebrated her 21st  last week. Clodagh celebrated the occasion on the camogie pitch (where else would you find Clodagh), when she and her UCD team mates defeated WIT on a scoreline of 2.8 to 1.8, having narrowly beaten DCU in previous match. Clodagh and the girls are now through to the Ashbourne Cup semi-finals week-end but first they must fulfill a UL fixture where the result won’t matter to them. What a wonderful way to celebrate a 21st birthday doing what you love to do. Well done Clodagh and good luck in the semi-finals with your team mates from UCD.

National Ploughing Championships.

The organizers of the National Ploughing Championship are working hard to make a huge comeback after a two year absence. The three day event which is set to take place in Ratheniska in Laois on September 20th. 21st and 22nd is expected to be as big an event as it has been over the last number of years. Now that most on the restrictions are lifted, the North Tipperary Ploughing Championships which will be held in March, are looking for a suitable site.  Any farmer who thinks they might be able to host the event, is asked to make contact with the secretary Denis Cahalan on (087) 7793719.

Well Done.

Clodagh recently captained Lorrha Junior B team to victory in the championship and was outstanding for the club all year.

Cups Visit to our School.

On Friday January 14th the camogie girls brought the Junior B cup and the U12 cup to our school. The cups were admired, questions were asked of the players and photos were taken.  Many thanks to the players who took time out to bring the Silverware and talk to the pupils and we wish them well on the field of play again this year.

Minutes Silence.

We observed a minute’s silence on Tuesday morning 18th at 11am as Ashling Murphy’s funeral Mass commenced in Mount Bolus.  May she rest in peace.

Farm Partnership.

Farmers are urged that getting the right advice is crucial for registered farm partnerships. Changing farm structures is a big decision for any farmer and all Department of Agriculture, Revenue and legal aspects should be reviewed fully before entering a farm partnership. The current deadline for applying for a Registered Farm Partnership number this year is the 11th of February 2022. Once your accountant and /or solicitor have examined the structure and it makes financial, succession and legal sense, the next step is to deal with the Department of Agriculture. While you can 100% be in a registered farm partnership after this date, your BPS will remain in your name for the 2022 scheme year so now is the time to get the process started.
