As you see there are extra Masses but the restriction to 50 and social distancing means that it will be impossible to provide for everyone who wishes to attend a Christmas Mass. Terryglass will have a recording of a Christmas Mass www.terryglass/kilbarron So, we recommend the following as the way forward and beg for your understanding: –

  1. First come first admitted till the limited capacity is filled. Note the total time permitted is one hour, mass and entry and exit included.
  2. The well wrapped up could stay with strict social distancing outside the doors listening to speakers.
  3. You could follow the Mass on webcam (from Borrisokane)
  4. You could watch, listen to parish Masses from home and receive Holy Communion at weekday Masses leading up to Christmas: Lorrha 9:30am Mon 21st , Borrisokane 7pm Tuesday 22nd and Kilbarron 7.30pm Wednesday23rd. (Think of the 12 days of Christmas)
  5. Mark Christmas at home with a special liturgy and visit a crib in the parish and pray there.
  6. We aim to keep Masses to 40 mins as there is ventilation and cleaning required in between Masses.

Our priority is that everyone is safe as we celebrate the wonderful feast of Christmas with restrictions that we hope we will never see again. It is now a mandatory for everyone including the priest to wear face masks except when public speaking.

The club would like to thank the Coaches, Mentors, players and parents for the commitment that was given to our Adult and Underage teams throughout a challenging year. Current players Katie Kennedy, Catherine O’Meara and Elaine Hogan were part of that team.
Well done to all girls who represented our club so well during the year and continued success to Clodagh McIntyre as a member of the Tipperary Senior panel.

Rathcabbin Community Hall Ltd

The hall needs your help. It requires vital repairs to the roof. If repairs are not made unfortunately the hall will have to close. Due to Covid restrictions no fundraising can be held at the moment, which means we are looking for support from the community.   No matter how small of a donation it will all help. You can donate on line on our gofundme.com page. You can also donate by cash (envelopes are available in church porch and from Kelly’s shop or from any Hall Committee members).

Christmas Wishes.

Lorrha Development/Tidy Towns wish to extend a happy and peaceful Christmas to everyone and many blessings in the new year. Stay safe.

Third Lockdown Looming.

With covid – 19 numbers stubbornly rising again, this Christmas is going to be so different for each and everyone of us. Again, we await a government announcement on new restrictions and as we wait for the ‘magic’ that a vaccine which might be rolled out before the end of this month. But let us not forget, present restrictions continue and we shouldn’t forget that in our time of rushing about in preparation for Christmas. Taoiseach Micheál Martin has said that the relaxation period of restrictions is expected to be shortened.  Speaking on RTÉ News the Taoiseach said that he had spoken to Chief Medical Officer Dr Tony Holohan who is concerned about the growing number of Covid-19 cases in Ireland. He said that the National Public Health Emergency Team would be recommending to shorten the relaxation period of current restrictions, meaning they would finish earlier than the original 6 January date. He added that the government was taking the situation “very seriously”. So do keep safe everyone because you do not want to catch this awful virus or pass it on to someone else. Take care.
