North Tipperary Trails Group has been working to develop and improve walks in North Tipperary over the last number of years. The Trails Group is made up of representatives from agencies such as North Tipperary LEADER North Tipperary County Council Shannon Development and the Rural Recreation Officer for County Tipperary. Community groups Coillte FÁS The Rural Social Scheme and land owners throughout the county have also played an important role in this process.
In 2009 over 830000 overseas visitors to Ireland participated in hiking and hill walking and spent an estimated €494million. In North Tipperary the choice of walks developed and enhanced in recent times means there is an opportunity to tap into this market. The Trails Group would like to showcase the range of walks (national looped national linear and community walks) that are now available in North Tipperary. Service Providers in North Tipperary are therefore invited to a presentation on these walks in order to become familiar with them and promote them to attract visitors.
You are invited to Lough Derg House in Dromineer on Thursday the 10th of November at 2p.m – 3.30p.m. Light refreshments will be served and there will be a short presentation on the walks and the benefits they can have to your business. Smile Awhile.

WHEN I SAY I’M BROKE…I’M BROKE!!

Yesterday I answered a knock on the door only to be
Confronted by a well-dressed young man carrying a vacuum cleaner.
"Good morning" said the young man. "If I could take a couple of
minutes of your time
I would like to demonstrate the very
you have atleast seen my demonstration." And with that he emptied a bucket of
horse manure on to my hallway carpet.
"If this vacuum cleaner does not remove all traces of this horse manure from your carpet Madam I will personally eat the remainder."
I stepped back and said "Well I hope you’ve got a good appetite
because they cut off my electricity this morning. What part of broke do you not understand?"
