A disappointed Tipp manager Michael Ryan after Galway beat Tipp in the League final on Sunday last.
Celebrations Cancelled.
The North Tipperary ploughing celebrations and presentations which was fixed for Saturday night last, had to be cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances. The committee wish to apologise to everyone involved to all who had planned on attending. The event will be rescheduled for a later date. Watch this space for further details.

Scoil Lua Naofa Lorrha are enrolling for September 2017. If you would like to call to the school talk to the teachers or to collect an Application form please phone (090) 9747295. Sympathy.
Sympathy is extended to John Harte, Coolross, Rathcabbin on the death of his brother Rody, Eyrecourt. After funeral Mass on Saturday April 22nd in St. Brendans Church, Clonfert, burial took place in Calvary cemetery Laurencetown. May he rest in peace.
Art Exhibition in Lorrha Community Shop
Lorrha Community Shop is hosting a children’s art exhibition of creations by the students of Ute Duggan “Bramble Art” from Saturday, April 29th – May 6th. All are welcome.
Church News.
Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament every Thursday from 10.00am to 8.00pm in Rathcabbin Church. We invite all parishioners to come and stay a while in the presence of Jesus. Eucharistic Adoration National Pilgrimage to Knock will take place on Sunday next April 30th.
May Devotions to Our Lady of Clonfert.
The annual May devotions to Our Lady of Clonfert will commence on Monday May 1st with Mass each evening at 8.00p.m. except on Sunday’s when it will be at 9.30 am with Rosary and Benediction at 7.00p.m. Mass will also be celebrated each Friday at 12 noon where all nursing homes, schools and groups are invited to attend. Volunteers Required.
April is National Spring clean month and because of ongoing maintenance needing to be done around Lorrha village, i.e. sweeping, cleaning, weeding, painting etc., volunteers are invited to give some time to this work. This can be done at a time of your own choosing. Lorrha Development will not be setting any specific work evenings this summer so any help you can give will be appreciated. Contact any member of the Development committee.
Summer De-Clutter.
When cleaning out your wardrobe to make room for the summer collection, please remember Lorrha Development/Tidy Towns who continue to collect unwanted clothes throughout the year. Items of clothing must be clean and dry and in good condition please and we can supply bags if you want. We can also collect to make it easy for you, just call (086) 8647166, (086) 8493595 or (087) 2601413 with your name and details. Please note we cannot accept Duvets, bedding, household linen, pillows, cushions, carpets, rugs and maths including bath toilet and shower math’s, soiled or wet clothing. All money raised from all fundraising ventures is used for the ongoing work around Lorrha Village which helps to keep two adults employed. Many thanks for your continued support.
Lorrha Camogie Win.
Congratulations to the Lorrha Junior Camogie team who beat Ballingarry 4.13 to 1.6 on Saturday last in the County League semi-final. They now await a date, time and opposition for the final. Best of luck to the panel and management. Watch this space for further details.
Memorial Walk.
The Milford Hospice 5KM Memorial Walk will take place on Sunday, May 28th at the University of Limerick with a start time of 12 noon. This event is suitable for those of all levels of fitness and ability and the centre’s organisers are asking anyone who wishes to take part to register for the event as soon as possible, there is no entry fee, but the organizers are encouraging people to seek sponsorship for the lunchtime walk or else to make a donation. The walk will commence at University of Limerick Sports Arena and will finish on the grounds of Milford Care Centre. Participants will have the opportunity to place a handwritten on colourful ribbon that will adorn a special memorial tree, on the grounds of Milford. A special Memorial Pin will also be presented to each participant. Refreshments will also be available after this memorial occasion. It’s necessary for everyone to register on www.eventmaster.ie , alternatively registration and sponsorship cards can be arranged by contacting the Fundraising Department at 061 485859, between 9am & 5pm, Monday to Friday; by email to fundraisind@milfordcarecentre.ie. GAA News.
Senior: Lorrha will begin their County Championship campaign against Holycross/Ballycahill in Templederry on Sunday 30th April at 7pm. Best of luck to the players and mentors. On Sunday 7th May, Lorrha face Templederry in the first round of the North Senior Championship in Nenagh at 2pm
Junior: The Junior hurlers have six points from six from their first three games. Lorrha have two games remaining against Roscrea and Burgess
Minor: Lorrha Rovers Gaels hurlers played Nenagh Eire Og in round 2 in Nenagh last Thursday and suffered a heavy defeat, 4-24 to 2-8. Their campaign will resume after the leaving cert. The footballers Minor ‘B’ Championship match against Silvermines due to have been played yesterday (Tuesday) was postponed and will be refixed in the next two weeks.
Under 16: Lorrha Rovers Gaels ‘A’ footballers lost to Inane Rovers last Monday week, 4-16 to 2-2. However, they still reached the semi-finals where they played Kilruane MacDonaghs last Monday evening but suffered a heavy defeat.
Under 14: Lorrha Rovers Gaels footballers played two matches last week, firstly against Portroe in Ballinderry last Thursday and lost 3-11 to 1-3. On Saturday, they played Borrisokane in Borrisokane and lost narrowly 2-7 to 2-5. This evening (Wednesday), they play Kilruane MacDonaghs in Cloughjordan at 6.30pm
Under 12: Lorrha footballers were away to Borrisokane last Friday and won 2-3 to 2-2. Lorrha are through to the semi-final against Burgess in Kilcolman on Thursday 27th April at 7pm
Tipperary: Hard luck to Patrick Maher, Brian Hogan, John Madden and the Tipperary senior hurlers on their National League final loss to Galway on Sunday.
Tipp Draw: We thank all those who joined the 2016/2017 draw which has come to an end and the promoters who do such a great job with the draw. We will be promoting the 2017/2018 draw in the coming weeks.
