Church News.
Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament every Thursday from 10.00am to 8.00pm in Rathcabbin Church. We invite all parishioners to come and stay a while in the presence of Jesus.
Please Note: Eucharistic Adoration National Pilgrimage to Knock will take place on Sunday, April 30th.
Mass in Lorrha Church at 9.30a.m. and in Rathcabbin Church at 8.00p.m. For First Friday which is April 7th. The Mass in Rathcabbin Church will be the Mass of preparation for children who will receive the sacrament of Communion for Life in 2017.
The Chrism Mass for the Diocese will be celebrated by Bishop Fintan on Wednesday evening, April 12th in the Cathedral Ennis. The time of the Mass will be 7.30 pm. People are warmly invited and it is a night to acknowledge our unity as a Diocese when we gather with our Bishop to celebrate the work of priests and people and to recommit to Eucharist and to ministry with God’s people.
Annual Display.
Lorrha Apostolic Society are holding their annual display in Lorrha Hall on Palm Sunday April 9th from after Mass to 6.00pm. Do come along and view the winter month’s work by this group of people, join them for a chat and a cup of tea also. Raffle tickets are on sale and they ask that you please support that too. Everyone is welcome. The committee will also hold their church gate collection on the same week-end in the three churches in the parish.
Lorrha Camogie:
We have played our two group matches of the league against Ballina and Burgess and were successful in winning both. We are now through to the county league semi-final. No fixture has been announced for this match yet and we await word on who we will play and a venue. Best of luck to all concerned. Training continues this week in Moatefield on Wednesday at 8pm and Fri at 7.15pm, with a challenge match to be played Sunday morning.
Spring De-Clutter.
When cleaning out your wardrobe to make room for the spring collection, please remember Lorrha Development/Tidy Towns who continue to collect unwanted clothes throughout the year. Items of clothing must be clean and dry and in good condition please and we can supply bags if you want. We can also collect to make it easy for you, just call (086) 8647166, (086) 8493595 or (087) 2601413 with your name and details. Please note we cannot accept Duvets, bedding, household linen, pillows, cushions, carpets, rugs and maths including bath toilet and shower math’s, soiled or wet clothing. All money raised from all fundraising ventures is used for the ongoing work around Lorrha Village which helps to keep two adults employed. Many thanks for your continued support.
Bramble Art Exhibition
Portumna library is hosting a children’s art exhibition of creations by the students of Ute Duggan “Bramble Art” from April 8th – 22nd, opening on Saturday 8th at 3pm. All welcome.
Redwood NS – Easter Multi – Activity Camp
Redwood NS will be holding an Easter Multi – Activity Camp from Monday 10th – Wednesday 12th April in the school from 9.30am to 2.00 pm. Activities include art, hands on science experiments, design and make, photography, cookery, photostory,Kahoot, powerpoint, nature trails, aistear (learning through play) and lots and lots more!! The camp is €10 per child per day. The camp are open to children from 3 to 10 years old.
