Christmas Market & Auction.

Many thanks to all who supported is so many ways the Lorrha Christmas Market and Auction held last Sunday. Special thanks to all who donated items for the auction and to those who purchased items and also bought tickets. The full list of prizewinners will be published next week. Christmas Party Final Reminder.

The annual North Tipperary ploughing christmas party night out will take place in Paddy’s Terryglass on Friday night December 10th at 8.00p.m. Anyone interested in attending is asked to contact Denis on (087) 7793719 on or before this Wednesday 7th.

Ecumenical Service.

The annual Ecumenical Carol service will be held on Thursday night December 15th at 8.00pm in St. Ruadhan’s C.O.I. Lorrha. Refreshments will be served in the church afterwards. All welcome.

Novice Ploughing:  

North Tipperary Ploughing is organizing a Novice Ploughing competition on Saturday 4th March 2017 for both male and female between the age of 16 and 35 years. Anyone interested is asked to contact Denis Cahalan on (087) 7793719, John Cahalan on (087) 7975878 or Eamon Dermody on (087) 2600738.

Tracing Relations.

Patrick Hogan is trying to trace his relations. His Great-great Grandfather was Michael Hogan (b. 1829- d. 1915) who was married to Mary Kilkeary and they had six children Patrick (his great grandfather), Peter, Bridget, John, Michael and Mary. Church News

Thursday, 8th December, is the Feast of Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Holyday of Obligation. Mass in Lorrha at 10.00a.m and Rathcabbin at 7.30p.m. Mass in Lorrha Church on Wednesday, 7th December at 7.30p.m. Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament  continues  every Thursday from 10am to 8pm in Rathcabbin  Church. We invite all parishioners to come and stay a while in the presence of Jesus.

Youth 2000 invites all young adults between the ages of 16 – 35 to a Catholic weekend retreat taking place from 16th – 18th December at Newbridge College, Co Kildare. This will be an exciting weekend attracting over 600 young people from all over the country. The weekend is being organized by young  people for young people.  Parental consent is essential for those under 18.  All meals are provided for  and accommodation is onsite. There will be free busses picking you up from various areas around the country. Booking is essential. Pilgrimage.

Michael O’Connor will escort a tour to Benevento and San Giovanni from 18th April 2017. Many will remember Michael who attended a healing Mass in Clonfert last May with a Padre Pio relic.. Itinerary to include a visit the birth place of Saint Padre Pio and the church where he celebrated his first Mass. The cell where he lived and died, and his tomb. Direct flight from Dublin to Naples. Winter De-Clutter.

When cleaning out your wardrobe to make room for the winter collection, please remember Lorrha Development/Tidy Towns who continue to collect unwanted clothes throughout the year. Items of clothing must be clean and dry and in good condition please and we can supply bags if you want. We can also collect to make it easy for you, just call (086) 8647166, (086) 8493595 or (087) 2601413 with your name and details. Please note we cannot accept Duvets, bedding, household linen, pillows, cushions, carpets, rugs and maths including bath toilet and shower math’s, soiled or wet clothing. All money raised from all fundraising ventures is used for the ongoing work around Lorrha Village which helps to keep two adults employed. Many thanks for your continued support.

We would like to say a huge thank you to all those who attended our Christmas Variety Show on Thursday evening last in Lorrha Hall. Congratulations to the children who did a magnificent job and worked so hard in preparing for the show. Many thanks to all who supported our Christmas raffle. Thank you to Donie and Yvonne O’ Meara, Supervalu Portumna, for giving us the opportunity to fundraise in their shop. Thank you to all of our parents for organising and running the raffle and for providing all the prizes and refreshments on the night. The winners were 1st Hamper Frances Bugler, 2nd Hamper Ruth Needham, 3rd Hamper Susan Delahunt, 10 bags of turf Dennis Duffy. There were lots of spot prize winners on the night as well. A huge thank you also to Jared Madden for producing and directing our show ‘Night at the Museum’ and to Stephanie Power for choreographing our Irish dancing display. Thank you also to the Lorrha Hall committee for being so accommodating. Wishing everybody a very happy Christmas from all in Redwood NS.

Fundraising Concert.

Shannon Rovers GAA club present Mike Denver in concert in the Abbey Court Hotel, Nenagh on Wednesday 14th December. Doors open at 7.30 with the show to start at 8.00. Admission is €25. GAA News

Senior Club AGM: on Thursday 15th December at 8pm. Nomination and motion forms have been distributed. All are welcome to attend.

Ball Wall Session: On Saturday, 10th December with David Needham in Moatfield at 3.25pm for boys and girls from 10 years to 16 years.
