This in National Tidy Towns adjudication month and Lorrha Tidy Towns committee are asking everyone to be extra vigilant for litter around the village and on the approach roads. Members of the committee have been out many long hours planting flowers, painting and cleaning around the village. We ask householders to help brighten up the village by sowing window boxes and hanging baskets, painting, cleaning and weeding where necessary around their houses. The committee also badly needs volunteers to  help so please come along to at least one of our weekly work evenings which take place every Thursday evening from 7.30pm. Please bring a brush, shovel, spade and or weeding implements. All help needed.

Active Week in Redwood-

All classes, parents and teachers walked to school from the GAA grounds as part of ‘Active Week’ last week. We took part in hurling, tennis, yoga, bootcamp and soccer over the week. Many thanks to David Fogarty, D20 Fitness, for doing an invigorating bootcamp session with us. We also had a very informative talk from nutritionist Honor Gerathy. Honor advised the children to make small changes such as drinking more water, changing white to brown eg. bread, rice, pasta and eating as much veg as you like. We got lots of tips and ideas for a healthy eating and simple things to cook and try out at home.
