“Please Don’t Go”.

Megan O’Meara Redwood, has penned and sang a song to create awareness around mental health and highlight the plight of suicide in Irish society. Now a Health Care Assistant, her heartfelt song ‘Please don’t go’ highlights how important it is to speak out when going through a difficult time. She published the video to her Facebook account, https://www.facebook.com/megan.omeara.5/posts/1132951363393252 where it has been viewed more than 43,000 times. On her Facebook post Megan wrote,  “I’m not usually one to put up a status like the following but I feel like this is something that I wanted to share. More than 120,000 people took part in darkness into light to raise money for Pieta House and help prevent suicide. Everyone has been effected by suicide as rates increase each year. Families and friends are left heartbroken every day as they say goodbye to a loved one who has been taken before their time. Mental health is a serious issue that needs to be a priority in our society, so that we can help and support those who are suffering in silence. The song I have written describes a story that is constantly happening today, and it has become too common in my eyes, it aims to create suicide awareness.”  Congratulations Megan, well done and keep up the good work.
