Birthday Greetings.
Congratulations and best wishes is extended to Sackie O’Brien, Rathcabbin on the occasion of his 80th birthday. Sackie celebrated the occasion with family and friends two weeks ago. Many happy returns.
Lorrha Camogie
A huge thank you to everyone who supported our church gate collection at all Masses last weekend, it was greatly appreciated. Many thanks to Breda O’Meara Pharmacy Borrisokane for sponsoring us a fully kitted out first aid bag, it’ll get great use!
Lorrha travel to Ballina for their next Junior match which will be played Easter Monday in Ballina at 12noon. All support welcome.

Holy Thursday: 24th March. Mass of the Lord’s Supper – Rathcabbin Church – 8.00p.m. Priest available for Confessions after Mass.
Good Friday – 25th March – 10.00a.m. Confirmation candidates pray Stations of the Cross in Lorrha Church. 3.00p.m. Liturgy of the Passion and Death of Christ in Rathcabbin Church. 8.00p.m. Prayer around the Cross in Lorrha Church. Good Friday is a day of fast and abstinence.
Holy Saturday – 26th March 8.00p.m. Easter Vigil in Lorrha Church.
Easter Sunday – 27th March – 11.30a.m. Mass in Rathcabbin Church.
Ploughing Raffle.
North Tipperary Ploughing Association annual draw will take place on Saturday night March 26th in Paddy’s Bar, Terryglass. There are numerous prizes to be won and with tickets still on sale, don’t miss out. We look forward to seeing you all on Saturday night.
Pieta House Fundraiser.
The Darkness into Light 5km walk/run will take place in Banagher this year on Saturday 7th May in aid of Pieta House, the centre for the prevention of suicide and self harm. The event will begin at 4:15 am from Banagher College and participants will cross the line as dawn is breaking. You can register online now or alternatively at Super Valu Banagher on Holy Thursday from 4-6 or Easter Saturday from 10-6 to avail of the early bird offer. Please come out and lend your support to this uplifting and inspirational event.

The pupils and staff wish to extend thanks to all who attended the school’s Proclamation day on March 16th. Your presence added to the formality and significance of the event. Music, song and drama from the pupils also added greatly to the experience while fifth and sixth class pupils read the Proclamation and the tricolour was raised by sixth class pupils Patrick, Scott and Caoimhe.

Lorrha Development Association / Tidy Towns are holding a meeting this Wednesday night March 23rd in Lorrha Hall at 8pm. Now that Spring has arrived there is plenty of work and planning for the months ahead and to prepare the village for the National Tidy Towns adjudicating where it is hoped we can improve on marks from last year’s success. However, we do need help and we invite everyone interested in the village to attend this important meeting so we can all work together. Please support.

Thinking of clearing out the wardrobe to make room for the Spring collection? Lorrha Development/ Tidy Towns continue with unused clothes collection throughout the Winter months. De-clutter your wardrobe, attack your attic, recycle all unwanted/unused items of clothing to make room for your Spring collection. We will accept any kind of bag or in bags provided by the committee. We can collect your unwanted items. Just call or text (086) 8647166, (086) 8493595 or (086) 8355405 with your name and details. Please note we cannot accept Duvets, bedding, household linen, pillows and cushions, carpets, rugs and mats (including bath, shower and toilet mats), soiled or wet clothing. We appreciate your support. All money raised from all fundraising ventures is used for the ongoing work around Lorrha Village which helps to keep two adults employed.
