Late Tony Molloy.

The death occurred in Tullamore General Hospital on Thursday February 11th of Tony Molloy, Roughan, Rathcabbin.
Born and raised in Ballyea 81 years ago the youngest in a family of four, Tony left for England as a young man after finishing school in Rathcabbin and worked in a number of jobs before returning home eight years later. He will be best remembered as the local wildlife ranger and for his musical talents attending Fleadh Cheoil’s around the country and winning medals for his accordion playing and for whistling. He helped make an accordion with his friend Michael Searson from Moneygall which they presented to the American Ambassador as a gift for President Obama and which in turn was to lead to a kiss on his cheek from Michelle Obama when they visited Moneygall.
Tony loved the great outdoors and the simple things in life like fishing and shooting, a sport he carried on until last August until he started to get ill. Another one of his past times was local history and folklore which he immersed his thoughts in. He will be sadly missed by all who knew his but in particular by his family. Sympathy is extended to his wife Mary,  sons Kevin and Colin, daughters Caroline and Tracey, sister Bridget (Bridie) England, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, family and friends. After funeral Mass in Our Lady Queen of Ireland church Rathcabbin on Saturday 13th  burial took place in Bonaham cemetery. May he rest in peace.

Nee O’Hara from Kilregane, she was a quiet individual and a good neighbour who loved gardening and her array of different colored rose bushes was her pride and joy and a sight to behold.  Other hobbies she enjoyed was knitting her Aran jumpers, reading and country music concerts but mostly she enjoyed the game of bingo, playing up until recently.  A great family woman, she lived for her family and continued her interest in them into their adult lives and that interest extended to her grandchildren whom she adored.  Predeceased by her husband Paddy eighteen years ago and by her son Keith one year later she is survived by her sons Desmond, Niall, Ray, Owen, daughters Laura and Caroline, brother Joe O’Hara, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family, neighbours and friends to whom sympathy is offered.
