Owen Kennedy Newtown Rathcabbin son of Eugene and Mary accepting the keys of the VW Polo from Lorrha GAA club chairman William Harding after he won the clubs fundraising prize on Easter Sunday night. Church Gate Collection.

Lorrha Apostolic Work Society will hold their Annual Church Gate Collection this coming week-end the 14th – 15th April in the three Churches in the parish. Please be as generous as you can to this cause.

Sympathy.

Sympathy is extended to the family and relatives brothers Tom Lambe (Rathcabbin) Paddy Lambe (Lorrha) sister Maureen Moran (Rathcabbin) on the death of Sarah Brennan Ballingarry on Wednesday April 4th. After funeral prayers on Good Friday in the Pike Church Ballingarry burial took place in Ballingarry Cemetery. May she rest in peace.

Knock Summer Festival.

The annual Knock summer festival will take place on Saturday 28th July. The day will include talks workshops music prayer and reflection. The theme for the day is ‘ONE’. Energy Tip For The Week.

The energy tip for this week from the green school committee in Scoil Lua Naofa Lorrha. The miles that goods are transported between distributor and household is a major cause for concern given the rising price of fuels. Buy locally produced where possible to cut the costs and save energy.

Fundraiser Reminder.

Lorrha and Dorrha Historical Society: Hear ye hear ye! A buffet style Medieval banquet (Medieval fancy dress optional) is to be held in Maher’s Shed on Friday 13th April at 9p.m. Try some of old style pig on a spit or roast venison A lot of fun games on the night with juggling person in stock arm wrestling and raffle. Also there will be a sword fighting display. Prizes for best dressed man and maiden on night . Dance the night away with some traditional music. Tickets available from Maher’s shop Colette’s hair dressing salon or contact James 0872031798. Proceeds in aid of Beire Breifne Walkway.

Car Winner.

Congratulations is extended to Owen Kennedy Newtown Rathcabbin who was the lucky winner of the VW Polo car in the Lorrha GAA draw which was held on Easter Sunday night. Son of Eugene and Mary this is the second car the family have won in the last nineteen years. A final year student in Galway Owen bought the ticket from his brother Michael who won the promoters prize of a television. We wish Owen many happy years of safe driving. The winner of the 42” television was Brid Connolly Killeen N.S. while the second television which was a 32’ was won by local man Tommy Deely Lisgreen. Well done to all.

Volunteers Required.

Accord Nenagh the Diocesan Agency for marriage and the family is looking for volunteers for it’s marriage education services. The qualities required is an ability to relate easily to people to work as part of a team to develop at a personal level.
The benefits to you is you will provide a valuable service to the community receive excellent training and personal development and develop presentation and group facilitation skills.
