This light was stolen from Lorrha Village some weeks ago. It was new and had only been fitted a few days earlier. If you have been offered this light for sale or know anything about it,  please contact the Gardai at (067) 27101 or any member of the Lorrha Development / Tidy Towns committee.

Speech & Drama Lessons Reminder.

Pre-school Speech and Drama lessons will take place on Thursdays starting on November 5th from 3.10 to 4.00pm for 3-4 year olds, in Lorrha N.S. Please ring (090) 9747295 to enrol your child.

Theft.

In recent weeks a newly fitted Halogen light was stolen in Lorrha Village. The light which was black in colour, was replacing a light that had been broken some months ago at the base of the black cross on the entrance to the village from the Carrigahorig side. Anyone who may have been offered this light for sale or who may have seen anything suspicious should contact Borrisokane Gardi on (067) 27101 or any member of Lorrha Development/Tidy Towns. A load of timber was also stolen around the same time from Lorrha Cemetery. Again your assistance is sought with this theft. Contact Borrisokane Gardai or any member of the Cemetery committee if you were offered this timber for sale or saw anything suspicious.

Church News.

Mass on Wednesday, 4th November in Lorrha Church at 7.30p.m. This Mass will be offered for the Holy Souls. Friday, 6th November, is  Feast of All Saints of Ireland and is also the First Friday of the month. Mass will be celebrated in Lorrha Church at 9.30a.m. and will be offered for the Holy Souls.  In Rathcabbin Church there will be Liturgy of the Word and Communion at 9.30a.m.

Calendar Launch Reminder.

Prior to the launch of the 2016 Lorrha & Dorrha parish calendar on Saturday night November 7th. in The Ferry Inn, a three course meal will be served at 8pm sharp. Anyone interested in joining us for a great night of good food and wonderful entertainment with music by the popular Puca Lane is asked to contact Mary on (087) 2601413 or Rose on (086) 8647166 on or before Thursday November 5th .

Date For Your Diary.

The annual Lorrha Christmas Market and Auction will take place as like previous years, on the first Sunday in December which falls this year on the 6th. We will be having all the usual fun of the fair as well as the auction for fuel, fodder etc. Anyone wishing to donate items for the auction can contact Louis on (086) 8493595 or any member of the committee.  Anyone wishing to book a table for the market can contact Mary at (090) 9747196 or Liz at (090) 9747893 or any member of the committee.

Lorrha Camogie AGM:

The Lorrha Camogie AGM will be held in the clubhouse on Saturday 14th November at 7pm. We ask all parents of juvenile camogie players to attend along with representatives of the GAA Club and all adult junior camogie players. We have important decisions to make regarding the future of the club and it is imperative that we have a good turnout at this meeting to discuss the future of the club at all age levels. Everybody is welcome and your attendance at this meeting and interest in the club is most appreciated.

Memorial Long Tail Pheasant Competition

The PJ Gorman and Eddie Clancy Memorial Long Tail Competition will be held in Kelly’s Last Chance, Rathcabbin on Saturday 7th November, with the traditional Game Barbecue. Great prizes and music on the night.

Change of date for presentation of CFR Certs in Rathcabbin

The presentation of certificates to the Cardiac First Responder and First Aid course graduates will take place in Rathcabbin Hall on Friday 13th November 2015 at 7.30 pm, not  6th November as previously organised. There will be a wine reception before the presentation and all sponsors of the village defibrillator are invited to intend.

Enable Ireland Draw

Congratulations to Arlene Molloy, Rathcabbin, Willie Ryan, Aglish, Liam Reddish, Rathcabbin and Pat Foote, Ardcroney, prizewinners in the fundraising draw for Enable Ireland North Tipp respite services.  A sincere thanks to the prize sponsors, DJ Ray, Mary Kennedy, Graigue, Paddy Hanrahan, Lusmagh and all the wonderful musicians, singers and supporters who made the 12 hours of music an enjoyable day.

Winter De-Clutter.

Thinking of clearing out the wardrobe to make room for the Winter collection? Lorrha Development/ Tidy Towns continue with unused clothes collection throughout the Winter months. De-clutter your wardrobe, attack your attic, recycle all unwanted/unused items of clothing to make room for your Winter collection. We will accept any kind of bag or in bags provided by the committee. We can collect your unwanted items. Just call or text  (086) 8647166, (086) 8493595 or (086) 8355405 with your name and details. Please note we cannot accept Duvets, bedding, household linen, pillows and cushions, carpets, rugs and mats (including bath, shower and toilet mats), soiled or wet clothing. We appreciate your support. All money raised from all fundraising ventures is used for the ongoing work around Lorrha Village which helps to keep two adults employed.

GAA News.

Lotto: Our jackpot is now €3,600 with a Match 3 pot of €100. Thank you for your continued support. You can play our lotto online at www.locallotto.ie where it is easy to play every week. Tickets are €2 each or three for €5.

Under 21 Hurling: The U21 hurlers have received a bye through to the semi-finals of the North U21 ‘B’ Hurling Championship. This game will not played until November with the losers group and quarter finals to be played beforehand.

Auction: This years Timber Auction, Sale of Work and the return of the Wheel of Fortune takes place on Sunday, 13th December at 2.00pm.

Club Gear: The club are putting together an order for Club Gear, in the run up to the Christmas period. Graham Downes (0879905870) will be compiling the order and will provide prices for adults and kids sizes. Items available include Jerseys, Windcheater Jacket, Rain Top, Tracksuit Top, Polo-Shirt, T-Shirt and Gear bag. Closing date for the receipt of orders is Friday, 13th November to allow for them to be ready for Christmas. (Samples will be available for viewing)

Social Dancing: continues on Friday night to the music of Liam Cantillon. Dancing 9.30pm to 12.30am. Practice every Monday night from 8.30-10.30pm.
