Lorrha GAA News.

Lotto: Our jackpot is now €5,650. Thank you for your continued support. You can play our lotto online at www.locallotto.ie where it is easy to play every week. Tickets are €2 each or three for €5.

Senior: Our championship campaign is in limbo as we await the progress of Killenaule and Eire Og Annacarty in their divisional finals this weekend. Killenaule will play Mullinahone in the South final while Eire Og Annacarty will play Knockavilla Kickhams in the West final. If one or both is successful, we will progress to the last 16, which could be played in 2-3 weeks time.

Junior Hurling: Despite leading for long stages, our junior hurlers lost 1-14 to 1-10 to Ballina in our final group game on Friday in Ballina. As a result we finish second in the group and must now play Borrisokane in a quarter final this Saturday, 22nd August in Cloughjordan at 6pm. Best of luck to the players and mentors.

Minor: The minor hurlers were defeated 3-18 to 0-11 by Silvermines in Dolla last Wednesday in their final group game of the championship. Lorrha currently lie in the final semi-final berth and are awaiting the outcome of this evenings (Wednesday) game between Silvermines and Borrisokane where a win or draw for Silvermines would see us progress to the last four.

Under 16: Lorrha/Shannon Rovers enjoyed a win over Portroe last Monday week. Last Monday, they beat Ballina 2-15 to 2-9. The team are already through to the semi-finals where they will play either Ballina, Burgess or Newport Gaels this weekend.

Under 14: Lorrha/Shannon Rovers Gaels suffered a disappointing 3-9 to 2-3 North semi-final defeat to Newport Gaels in Moatfield last Thursday. It brings to an end what had been an encouraging campaign and Lorrha would like to thank the players and mentors for their efforts. Also we would like to recognise Shannon Rovers Gaels as in the first amalgamation at this age grade, everything worked well throughout the year.

Tipperary GAA Clubs Draw: We ask all promoters to bring their accounts up to date.

Tipperary: Hard luck to Patrick Maher and the Tipperary senior hurlers following their All Ireland semi-final defeat to Galway on Sunday. Well done to the minor hurlers on beating Dublin in their semi-final.
