Reminder.
Scoil Lua Naofa annual open day will take place on Saturday March 21st. from 2.00pm to 4.00p.m. This is an ideal opportunity for parents to meet and talk to the teachers and view the school. Cancellation.
Due to unforeseen circumstances, the annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade in Lorrha has had to be cancelled. However, Denis Maher has organized a music session with Tradstone from 3pm onwards to compensate for the loss of the parade this year. All are welcome to the music session.
Sympathy
Sympathy is extended to the family and relatives of the late Rodge Raleigh, Kilfadda, Lorrha who died on Friday March 6th at the Regional Hospital Limerick. After funeral Mass on Monday 9th in St. Michael’s Church Aglish, burial took place in Aglish Cemetery. May he rest in peace. Sympathy is extended to Jim Coughlan and family Rathcabbin and Bridie Darcy and family Ardcroney on the death of their brother John Coughlan Portlaoise and formally Lorrha who died on Saturday March 7th at Drominin Nursing Home, Stradbally at the age of 90. After funeral Mass on Tuesday 10th in SS Peter and Paul’s Church Portlaoise burial took place in the local Cemetery. May he rest in peace. Sympathy is extended to the family and relatives of the late Gertie White, nee Spain Birr and Rathcabbin which occurred on Sunday March 8th at St. Kieran’s Nursing Home, Rathcabbin. After funeral Mass this Wednesday 11th in St. Brendan’s Church Birr, burial will take place in Clonoghill Cemetery, Birr. May she rest in peace.
Rags Golf Society Reminder. We are looking for new or lapsed members to join us for the year ahead. New Venture.
Darina & Pat Kelly and family extend a warm welcome Nashville singer songwriter Anne Marie Neff and banjo player Ken Grandjean to The Last Chance on Friday 13th March. This is an exciting venture for the musicians but in particular for the rural village business where they hope you will come and support this act.
Annual Display.
The Lorrha Apostolic Work Society Annual Display will be held in Lorrha Community Hall on Sunday 22nd March from 2 to 6p.m. Raffle tickets will be on sale and the committee hope you will come and view their work over the last twelve months and join them for a cup of tea. All welcome.
Ploughing Rescheduled.
The North Tipperary Ploughing Campionships which had to be cancelled because of the bad weather, will now take place on Sunday March 29th. More details next week.
Church News.
Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament every Thursday from 10am to 10pm in Rathcabbin Church. We invite all parishioners to come and stay a while in the presence of Jesus.
Community/Lenten Walks
The Parish Pastoral Council/Liturgy Group organize community walks which will take place during the six weeks of Lent will continue on Sunday 15th March with Assembly outside the Community Hall in Lorrha at 2.30pm. Everyone is welcome to come along and experience the benefits of getting together.

Music Lessons
Music lessons with Pio Ryan and Ms Helena Darcy are now available on Thursday evenings after school. Pio is offering lessons on the Banjo and Mandolin. Helena is offering lessons on the Button Accordion. The lessons are open to everybody, please contact the school if you would like to take part on 090 9747186.
Easter Tennis Camp: Teacher Helena Darcy and her sister Anne Marie are both qualified tennis coaches with Tennis Ireland. They are running an Easter tennis camp for all children (ages 5-12 yrs) from Mon, 30th March to Fri, 03rd April on the school tennis court. The camp will run daily from 10am-12pm. The camp will cost €35 per child with a reduction for families. Please contact Helena on 087 1021326 to book a place for your child.
Open Evening:
We are holding our open evening on Thursday, 12th March from 6 pm – 8 pm. It is a great opportunity for families to view the school, speak with the teachers and view the wide range of resources available to students. All are welcome, do come along! Our opening hours are changing from September 2015. The school will be open for pupils to arrive from 8.30 am in the morning with classes starting for all at 8.50 am. School will finish at 1.30pm for the infant classes and 2.30 pm for all other classes. ** Please Note** There is an optional afterschool pick-up service available to the school by a registered childcare facility. De-clutter your wardrobe, attack your attic, recycle all unwanted/unused items of clothing to make room for your Spring collection. We appreciate your support. All money raised from all fundraising ventures is used for the ongoing work around Lorrha Village which helps to keep two adults employed.
Parenting Seminar.
The seminar is called “Raising Children’s Self-Esteem” by Psychologist Dr Tony Humphreys. It will take place in the Nenagh Arts Centre at 7.30pm on Tuesday, March 24th. It has been many years since Dr Humphreys came to Nenagh in this capacity. He will discuss the important ways in which parents and care-givers can help children to realise their own worth. He is one of Ireland’s best known Psychologists. He has written many books including Understanding Teenagers and Self-Esteem: the Key to your Child’s Future. Tickets for this event are €10.
