Late Tony Reddin.
The death has occurred after a short illness of the legendary Lorrha and Tipperary goalkeeper Tony Reddin. Aged 95, Tony passed away at his home in Banagher on Sunday night last March 1st. Tony came from Mullagh in Co. Galway and arrived in Lorrha in 1947. From 1948 to 1957 Tony won three All Ireland senior titles in a row, six National league titles, and was selected as the greatest ever goalkeeper on The Team of the Century 1984 and again on the 2000 Millennium team. Sympathy is extended to his wife Maura and family and extended family relatives and friends on their great loss. Reposing at his home on Cuba Avenue, Banagher on Tuesday 3rd. from 12 noon until 7pm, with removal afterwards to St. Rynagh’s Church for 8pm. Requiem Mass on Wednesday at 12 noon followed by burial in Bonoham Cemetery, Rathcabbin. May he rest in peace.

Open Day.
Our annual open day will take place on Saturday March 21st. from 2.00pm to 4.00p.m. This is an ideal opportunity for parents to meet and talk to the teachers and view the school. All are welcome.
St. Patrick’s Day Parade.
The Annual Lorrha St. Patrick’s Day Parade will take place at 2.30pm. All floats are welcome on the day and there is no entrance fee. Contact Denis Maher for further information.
Ploughing Cancelled.
Due to heavy rain on Saturday night and again on Sunday morning the North Tipperary Ploughing Championships had to be cancelled on Sunday last. The organizing committee send their apologies to all. A new date has now to be agreed. Watch this space.
Church News.
Friday (6th March) is the First Friday of the month. Mass will be celebrated in Lorrha at 9.30am and in Rathcabbin at 7.30p.m. Confessions will be heard beforehand. Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament every Thursday from 10am to 10pm in Rathcabbin Church. We invite all parishioners to come and stay a while in the presence of Jesus.
Workshop.
A Liturgical Music Workshop takes place in the Pastoral Centre, Church Road, Nenagh, Tuesday 10th March @ 7.30pm. Choir/ Leaders & Organists are invited to attend. Details – Noreen on 087 2399243. Cost paid by parishes.
Community/Lenten Walks
The Parish Pastoral Council/Liturgy Group organize community walks which will take place during the six weeks of Lent will continue on Sunday March 8th with Assembly outside Redwood Church at 2.30pm. Everyone is welcome to come along and experience the benefits of getting together.
Pod-Umna Village Official Opening.
Orla Kennedy and Dick Ridge invite you to join them at Pod Umna Glamping village, Dominick Street Portumna on March 7th at 3pm to celebrate with them the official opening and first birthday celebration of our eco pod glamping village. Ribbon cutting, tree planting, blessing, live music, entertainment for the children and refreshments. All are welcome.
Redwood N.S Open Evening.
We are holding our open evening on Thursday, 12th March from 6 pm – 8 pm. It is a great opportunity for families to view the school, speak with the teachers and view the wide range of resources available to students. All are welcome, do come along!
Our opening hours are changing from September 2015. The school will be open for pupils to arrive from 8.30 am in the morning with classes starting for all at 8.50 am. School will finish at 1.30pm for the infant classes and 2.30 pm for all other classes. ** Please Note** There is an optional afterschool pick-up service available to the school by a registered childcare facility. Fundraising Table Quiz.
Rathcabbin NS Parent Association with hold a fundraising table quiz in Kellys Rathcabbin on Friday night 6th March. WOW- walk on Wednesday. The whole school community walked to school on Wednesday last as part of our efforts to earn our 4th Green Flag for travel. All children, Parents and staff made a great effort and it was a very successful and enjoyable activity. We will be planning other whole school activities over the coming months. Oisin In Tir na nOg- Drama group Clan Cuan visited and put on a fantastic show for all the children. Swimming classes continue every Tuesday. IT classes every Wednesday- The children are learning 3D drawing and web design and really enjoying it. Well done to the many children from our school who took part in the Credit Union Quiz and the Scór dancing, music and sketch sections recently. We will celebrate Pancake Tuesday on the 17th by inviting in families to enjoy pancakes in school from 12noon. we are especially welcoming any Grandparents to visit and spend time with the children on that day.

De-clutter your wardrobe, attack your attic, recycle all unwanted/unused items of clothing to make room for your Spring collection. We appreciate your support. All money raised from all fundraising ventures is used for the ongoing work around Lorrha Village which helps to keep two adults employed.
