News From Lorrha School.
History Walking Tour
The pupils and staff offer sincere thanks to Margaret Hogan, Birr, who brought us on a very interesting walking History tour of Birr in early December. Many thanks Margaret.
Birr Theatre.
Juniors to second class enjoyed a trip to Birr Theatre last week to see “The Three little Pigs” and “First Christmas”. Afterwards we went to the local playground before returning back to school after a wonderful and enjoyable day out. Thankfully the weather stayed dry.
Local Folklore.
Congratulations to Caoimhe Claffey, Tom Duggan and Caoimhe O’Meara who had their poem and stories selected and printed in the local Journal. Well done to all.
Speech and Drama.
In the after school activities, we held a Speech and Drama concert last week. “Sleeping Shepherd” went down very well and all participants had a great time. Well done to everyone here.
Key Board Concert.
In a second after school activity, we also held a Key Board Concert before the Christmas holidays which was a huge success by all who took part. Well done all. Have a safe and enjoyable Christmas and see you all in the New Year.
Rathcabbin National School
Once again the Christmas concert was a great success. Well done to the children and their teachers on producing two great nights of entertainment. The children performed lots of festive singing, Irish dancing, drama, music and German rhymes to entertain the large crowds on both nights. Congratulations to Susan Delahunt on winning the Christmas hamper. Many thanks to all our sponsors for raffle prizes donated and to our loyal supporters. Nollaig Shona daoibh go léir.
