Parish Calendar 2014.

The Lorrha Parish calendar is now on sale throughout the parish in time to post to loved ones for Christmas. Priced at just €10, the calendar makes a lovely gift for those living away from home and is packed from cover to cover with photographs from the past and the present. Lorrha Development wish to thank all sponsors of the calendar and all who have loaned photographs, some which had to be left for another year. Without your continued support, there simply wouldn’t be a calendar. All money raised goes back in Lorrha village continued development.

Christmas Market & Auction.

Anyone with items of fuel, fodder, etc. to donate to the Annual Lorrha Christmas Market and Auction  on Sunday December 8th please contact Louis ( 086) 8493595 or any member. Anyone interested in taking a stall, please contact Mary (090) 9747196 or you can contact us via Facebook or at info@54.171.167.182. Anyone with bric a brac items that they would like to donate for the market, please call (086) 8647166. We continue with unwanted clothes collections over the winter months. There will be a collection point available at the Christmas Market if you wish to bring unwanted items along or we will collect. We will accept any kind of bag or in bags provided by the committee. We appreciate your support and the money raised goes back into the ongoing work around Lorrha village.

Birthday Greetings.

Belated happy birthday to Susan Delahunt and Pat Smyth who both celebrated their birthday’s recently. Well done to you both and many good wishes for the future.

Canaries.

Lorrha Variety Group will be presenting its latest production, “Canaries”, a good, light comedy written by Bernard Farrell, in Lorrha Community Hall from Friday 29th, Saturday 30th November and Sunday 1st December  at 8.30pm and tickets are priced at €10.  Directed by Diane Dagg, it has a cast of twelve people and is a comedy about Tommy, Marie and Marie’s father, who go on holiday to the Canary Islands and meet up with Jane, Richard and their gang. As the action unfolds, it emerges that many of the characters are not all they seem to be, with hilarious consequences. Tommy and Marie end up having a holiday that they will never forget – but not necessarily for the right reasons.

Social Dancing.

Social dancing continues in the GAA clubhouse on Friday night with Twice Shy providing the music this coming Friday night. Dancing from 9.30pm to 12.30am

Vibrance Hair Creations will open on Friday the 22nd November 2013 in the premise formally known as Áine’s Hair Salon, Main Street, Borrisokane under the new ownership of Avril Murphy. Avril is a well-known Portumna Hair dresser with over 17 years experience and considerable knowledge when it comes to hairdressing. Five minutes later…..’Da-ad….’
‘What?’
‘I’m thirsty. Can you bring a drink of water?’
‘No, You had your chance. Lights out.’
Five minutes later: ‘Da-aaaad…..’
‘WHAT?’
‘I’m THIRSTY. Can I have a drink of water??’
‘I told you NO! If you ask again, I’ll have to smack you!!’
Five minutes later……’Daaaa-aaaad…..’
‘WHAT!’
‘When you come in to smack me, can you bring a drink of water?’
