A Thief on the Loose.

A thief is visiting the village of Lorrha under darkness and stealing the lovely hanging baskets from outside the graveyard. Two went missing last week and on Saturday night last two more went missing. They are church property and shame on those who are stealing them. Earlier in the season two empty baskets went missing but now the thief has decided to wait until they are in full bloom. A white van was seen in the vicinity shortly before the baskets disappeared. Gardai have been notified.

Lorrha Development Association.

There was another great response to the work morning on Wednesday last and those of you who came out are to be complimented for doing so much work around the village. Thanks to Arnold Liz and Trish for providing refreshments over the last number of weeks when the work is done. All help is required and appreciated.

Photo’s For Calendar.

Anyone with photo’s that they feel would be suitable for inclusion in the 2010 parish calendar are asked to please contact any member of the committee. Photo’s can be collected and will be returned. The proceeds from the calendar is used to help keep the village looking so well by purchasing plants flowers tubs paint etc. with volunteers giving their time free of charge.
Golf Outing.
RAGS the local golfing group are holding their next golf outing on Saturday 18th July at Roscrea tee-time 10am to 11.30am.

Shannon Bank Walk.

Adara hillwalking club are having a Shannon bank walk starting from Victoria Lock in Lusmagh and finishing in Portumna on Sunday 26th. July. Starting time is 12 noon. There will be a B.B.Q. and music afterwards in “The Shop” (George Killeen’s) Meelick afterwards. All are welcome to come along. Further details from Eddie on (087) 9240652.

Annual pilgrimage to Holycross Abbey will take place on Wednesday August 19th. Full details later.

Patrick Gets His Munster Medal.

Well done to Patrick Maher on gaining a Munster medal when Tipp seniors had a fin win over Waterford in the final on Sunday last.
