Church News.

This coming Saturday the 15th. is the Feast of the Assumption and is a holy day of obligation. Mass will be celebrated in Lorrha at 10.00a.m. Rathcabbin at 11.30 a.m. Redwood at the usual Vigil Mass (on Saturday evening) at 8.00p.m.

Date For Your Diary.

The Lourdes Diocesan Autumn Pilgrimage will leave Shannon Airport on Tuesday 22nd. September and return on Sunday 27th. Sept. The cost this year is €660. This is the cheapest pilgrimage price to Lourdes this year. Booking forms are available from Joe Walsh Tours 143 Lr. Baggott St. Dublin 2. or by calling (01) 2410810.

Golfers Take Note.

The parish golf society will celebrate its 20th. birthday with it’s annual outing on Saturday 29th. This years event will take place in Birr Golf club on Saturday 29th. August. Frank Larkin is the captain and he is determined to bring the parish together on the day and he appeals to all to come out and have a game of golf. Lorrha Development.

Lorrha Development will hold a meeting on Tuesday night 18th. at 8.00p.m. in St. Ruadhan’s Community Hall. All are welcome.

All photo’s will be returned. As 2010 will be the 25th. anniversary of the Association it is planned to have the calendar launched earlier than usual if possible.

Park Development.

Lorrha Development will celebrate the 25th. anniversary of the association next year. With that in mind and also to clean up the area to the rear of the housing estates in the village plans were put in place to develop this space which will enhance the area when complete. However funds are required to carry out this work and the committee have decided to organise a Lord Mayor fundraising drive to help with raising the necessary funds so that work on the project can get under way.
