Recent Wedding.

The wedding of Kathleen Quinn daughter of Michael and Joan Lisballyard Rathcabbin and Eamon Kearns son of Michael and Marie Rathdowney took place on Saturday October 10th. in St. Ruadhan’s Church Lorrha.
The bride was attended by her sister Melissa and by the grroms two sisters Eibhlin and Mary. Bestman was Sean Bergin with groomsmen Noel Brennan Richard and Daniel Dunne all friends of the groom. Page boy was Luke Quinn nephew of the bride and her niece Alex along with little eighteen month old Isobel Kearns niece of the groom were flower girls. Readers were Sally Gibbs and Richard Moore with the Prayers of the Faithful by Luke Quinn Ray Lee Mairead Houlihan Sam Moore Tom Moore and John Kearns. The beautiful ceremony was celebrated by Fr. John Joe Houlihan uncle of the bride. Afterwards the newly weds joined with their families and friends for their reception in the Shannon Oaks Hotel Portumna and they chose to spend their honeymoon in Italy. Congratulations and many good wishes are extended to Kathleen and Eamon for a long and happy life together in Waterford.

Sympathy.

Sympathy is extended to the family and relatives of George O’Brien Dublin and late of Gurteen Rathcabbin Matt Cahalan Boston and late of Glenbower Rathcabbin and Henry King Dunboyne and late of New Line Lorrha who died last week. May they rest in peace.

Halloween Party Reminder.

A Halloween Party will take place in the Ferry Inn on Thursday October 29th. at 6.30p.m. Entertainment will include Kiddies Disco Party Games Party Food. All are welcome and all are invited to dress up for the occasion. Anyone requiring further details is asked to contact (090) 9747139.

Banagher Drama Group.

After the success of this year’s production "A Crucial Week in the Life of a Grocer’s Assistant" Banagher Drama Group is taking to the stage once again in November with "Moonshine". This play by Irish Playwright Jim Nolan from Waterford is a romantic comedy about death burial and resurrection all taking place on Easter weekend in a small Irish village. "Moonshine" will be staged in L.S.U. Hall from Thursday 26th to Saturday 28th of November.

Jubilee Mass.

This year marks the Silver Jubilee of the opening of Our Lady Queen of Ireland Church in Rathcabbin. A special Mass will be celebrated on Saturday night the 21st. November at 7.30p.m. to mark the occasion. A meeting to arrange the celebrations will take place in Rathcabbin Hall on Monday night November 2nd. at 8.00p.m. to which your ideas will be welcome.

Climate Change.

Ireland and the road to Copenhagen will be the theme of this talk on climate change which will take place in St. Mary’s Secondary school in Nenagh on Friday November 6th. at 8.00p.m. Present will be Dr. Eanna Ní Lamhna and Professor John Sweeney. Are we blowing hot and cold?

Ghost Walk.

The annual Halloween ghost walk and party takes place in Lorrha on Saturday night 31st. at 8.15p.m. Fancy dress is optional.

Memorial Long Tail Competition

The Last Chance Rathcabbin are again proud to host the PJ Gorman and Eddie Clancy Memorial Long Tail Competition on Sunday evening 1st November. Top prize will be €100 and a perpetual trophy with other trophies and prizes for runners up. As usual the bbq will be fired up for some delightful game fare and music is by the great 1-2-1.

Lorrha Development.

A meeting of Lorrha Development Association will take place on Thursday night November 5th. at 8.00p.m. in St. Ruadhan’s Community Hall. All are welcome to attend.

Birthday Greetings.

Congratulations and best wishes is extended to twins Owen and Caroline O’Donoghue Lorrha who celebrated their birthday recently in The Ferry Inn Lorrha with their family and friends.

Grant Assistance.

North Tipperary County Council are offering a grant to assist homeowners and building owners to reduce energy costs. The Communication Cord.

Nenagh Players will present Brian Friel’s comedy ‘The Communication Cord’ in Borrisokane Hall from Tuesday November 3rd. to Saturday 7th. at 8.00p.m. The play is being staged in Borrisokane because the Town Hall in Nenagh is undergoing refurbishment. Small Business Course.

A small business accounts (manual) course will show people how to keep their own accounts. This course will commence in Banagher on Monday night November 2nd. and will run over six Monday evenings until 7th. of December. There’s a limited number of places available.
