The peaceful death took place at her residence on Monday December 21st. in her 97th. year of Eileen Hough Ballymacegan Lorrha. Nee Corcoran from Ballymacegan she was the youngest of eight children and incidentally the last remaining member of that family. Eileen moved just across the fields on her marriage to her late husband James as they were neighbours. She was also heavily involved in the Rathcabbin hall catering committee which catered for every function which took place in the parish back in the 1950’s and ‘60’s. Irish music was her passion and she played accordian in many sessions both in the parish and outside of it as well as dancing. Indeed she and the late Pat Coughlan of Lorrha P.O. won a waltzing competition which was organised and held by the local GAA back in the ‘50’s and which took place in Rathcabbin Hall. She loved to socialise to meet and chat with people and made many last friendships down through the years.
