Three Last Nights.

Rathcabbin Players are back on stage in Rathcabbin Hall for a further three nights this week-end Friday 12th. Sat 13th. and Sun. 14th. This will be your last chance to see this comedy so hurry and book that seat right away as places are limited. To book please call (087) 2360096 between 5.00p.m. and 8.30p.m.only. Sunday night coming will end on a high note when the group celebrate their 25th. Anniversary with a celebration to mark the occasion. Last week-end proved to be an overwhelming success and has left laughter lingering in the air for all who came to view and indeed many re-booking for a return visit such was the enjoyment.

Congratulations and best wishes is extended to Mary Moore The Ferry who celebrated her 80th. birthday last week-end. Mary celebrated the occasion with her family and friends at a birthday bash held for her in The Ferry Inn on Saturday night last. Happy birthday Mary and well done.

Pilgrimage.

Fundraiser.

Lorrha Lord Mayer Candidate Joe Dolan is holding a fundraising Poker Classic in The Last Chance Rathcabbin on Saturday night February 20th. at 9.00p.m. sharp.
One of the many prizes on the night will be a hamper sponsored by Donie O’Meara Portumna. There will be many more spot prizes also up for grabs. Tickets are on sale from Joe and from the members of his committee Mark Mannion Ann Coughlan Trish O’Donoghue Jane Bilton Paul Houlihan Willie Rigney Eugene Kennedy Sean Lambe Sammy Killeen Mike Young. Lorrha N.S. Green Schools Update.

Pupils and staff in Scoil Lua Naofa Lorrha are working hard on achieving their first green flag. All have become very conscientious about litter and waste around the school and the village. Great efforts are in practice to reduce and recycle. Over recent months waste management in the school is being monitored closely with the pupils taking an active part. We are all learning about the importance of the correct disposal of litter and the long lasting negative effects litter can have on our environment. It is only through working together and becoming environmentally aware that our actions can make a big difference and all can become environmentally aware thus helping Csoil Lua Naofa achieve the ultimate prestigious award….The Green Flag.

Lorrha Hall Committee Fundraising Night For North Tipperary Hospice.

The Greyfort Gospel Singers (Borrisokane) present “Speed Your Journey”— The Gospel in Story and Song in Lorrha Community Hall on Saturday 13th. Feb. at 8.30p.m. All proceeds to North Tipperary Hospice. No door charge. Donations at your own discretion.

In last week’s issue congratulations was extended to the public speaking team from Portumna Community School who have reached the Connacht final and three people from the parish were mentioned. Apologies to Mary Cleary for omitting her name from this list. It wasn’t that you were forgotten Mary it was merely a case of mistaken identity. Our parish representatives are teacher Ann Hough (Ballyea) Mary Cleary (Lahinch) Ciara Kennedy & Niall O’Meara (Curragha). Let’s hope the team take the Connacht trophy over the bridge and not just into Tipperary at the end of the month but into our parish also seeing as we have such strong representation involved.
