Lorrha Notes
Parishioners of Lorrha and Dorrha were invited to continue their Lenten Journey by attending a Reconciliation Service on Tuesday night March 30th. in St. Ruadhan’s Church Lorrha where members of Lorrha Variety group brought to life some of the story of the Progical son which was also the commence of the Easter Ceremonies in the Parish.
Church Services.
Holy Thursday: Mass of the Lord’s Supper in Rathcabbin Church at 8.00p.m. Confessions at 7.30p.m.
Good Friday: A day of fast and abstinence. Celebration of the Passion of Our Lord. Rathcabbin at 3.00p.m. Stations of the Cross in Lorrha at 7.00p.m.
Holy Saturday: Easter Vigil in Lorrha at 8.00p.m. with confessions at 7.30p.m.
Easter Sunday: Dawn Mass at 6.00a.m. in Moatefield. Mass in Lorrha at 10.00a.m. and in Rathcabbin at 11.30a.m.
Sympathy.
Sympathy is extended to Marilyn Hogan and family Rathcabbin on the death of her brother Billy Cavanagh Cloughjordan on Sunday March 21st. After Funeral Service in St. Kieran’s Church Cloughjordan on Wednesday 24th. burial took place afterwards in Modreeny Cemetery. May he rest in peace.
Angling Club.
Lorrha / Rathcabbin Angling club held the first round of the trout competition on Sunday last for the Pete Boylette perpetual trophy. In first place was Tony Molloy with a catch weighing 4 Lbs. 12 ozs. In 2nd. place was Joe Harding with 3lbs. 9ozs. While in 3rd. place was Billy Patterson with 1lb. 8ozs. The winner of the Junior section was Taylor Gordan with 1lb.6oz.
The second round of this competition will be held on Sunday 11th. April from 2 to 6.00p.m. from Portumna fishing club grounds.

The Annual General meeting of Lorrha / Rathcabbin Angling club will take place on Friday night 2nd. April at 8.30p.m. in Rathcabbin Hall. All are welcome.
Ferry Inn Surprise.
Congratulations to the proprietors of the Ferry Inn Theresa and Barry Walker who were recently mentioned in the Irish Times as “the cosy Ferry Inn”. A group of people who were in Portumna Forest Park stopped off at the popular Restaurant and Bar the Ferry Inn for food which they were highly complimentary of in an Irish Times report. Both Theresa and Barry were pleasantly surprised when customers informed them of the mention they had received. Well done Theresa and Barry and many good wishes for the future.
New Arrival.
Congratulations and best wishes is extended to Gary and Marian Tooher Rathcabbin on the birth of their son Gwilym recently. A brother for Meriel. Well done and many good wishes to you all.
