Church News.

Please take note there will be no 10.00a.m. Mass on Sunday 23rd. in Lorrha due to First Holy Communion which will take place at 11.00a.m.
Devotions to Our Lady of Clonfert continues till the end of May with Mass each evening and a different celebrant at 8p.m. and on Saturday’s at 7p.m.

Angling Club Notes.

Lorrha / Rathcabbin angling club held their Annual General Meeting last Friday night and all outgoing officers were returned. Chairman: Pat O’Meara Secretary: James Heenan Treasurer: Adrian Bouchier. Registration fees can be paid to the treasurer which is €10 for adults €5 for children and Senior citizens. The committee are planning on holding a fishing competition for children possibly in June. Further details later.

Heavy Defeat.

Lorrha Seniors were heavily defeated by Loughmore/Castleiney in the County senior hurling league last Sunday in Moatfield. They meet Burgess this coming Saturday 22nd. at 7p.m. which will be again in Moatfield so hopefully a much better performance will be served up.

Pilgrimage.

A pilgrimage to Medjugorje will take place from June 4th. to June 11th. There are some places available. For further information contact (067) 32160.

Work Evening.

Lorrha Development Association will hold a work evening this Thursday May 20th. commencing from outside the hall at 6.30p.m. If this time or evening is unsuitable for you please call (086) 8647166 as arrangements can be made to cater for those who are willing to help. All forthcoming work evening dates can be found on the parish web site www.lorrhadorrha.ie Also please note that the next meeting will be held on Thursday May 27th. at 9.00p.m. The main item on the agenda is the preparations for the Annual fun day which takes place on Sunday June 13th. All those willing to help is asked to attend this meeting please.

Fundraiser.

Portumna Day care centre is presently organizing their annual fundraising silver circle with proceeds going directly to the everyday running costs of providing the best care for all elderly people at the centre. Now on sale in the parish the draws will take place each week over five weeks commencing on June 1st. Entry to five draws is €10 and your support would be appreciated.

Spring Fair.

Woodford Spring fair takes place on Sunday May 30th. from 12 to 4p.m. Local arts and crafts traditional craft demonstrations face painting and lots more. Admission is free.
