Late Maureen McCormack.

The death occurred on Saturday August 7th. of Maureen McCormack Redwood Lorrha.
Formally Kennedy from the foot of Redwood Castle Maureen was a resident of Elm Grove Nursing home in Birr for some time. A shy retiring and quiet lady she was highly regarded by all who knew her. She loved the company of neighbors and friends calling to visit her previously at her home in Redwood and latterly in Elm Grove. Pre deceased by her husband Philip in 1984 she is survived by her sisters Kitty Slevin (Portland) and Josie Best (Lansboro) sisters-in-law nieces nephews relatives neighbors and friends to whom deepest sympathy is extended.
After funeral Mass in St. Ruadhan’s Church Lorrha on Tuesday 10th. burial took place in the adjoining cemetery. May she rest in peace.

Please note that our trip to Dublin Zoo on Tuesday 24th August has been cancelled. The next outing is a bus tour of the Slieve Bloom Mountains on Wednesday 1st September followed by a meal in the Thatch Crinkle on the way home. Ordination Reminder.

The ordination ceremony of Fr. Kieran O’Reilly in Ennis Cathedral will take place on Sunday August 29th. at 3.00p.m. Anyone who is interested in attending the ceremony is asked to contact Fr. Joe as soon as possible please. Our parish has been allocated seven tickets for the ceremony.

Bishop elect Mgs. Kieran O’Reilly will lead the Autumn Pilgrimage from the diocese to Lourdes from Monday 27th. September to Saturday 2nd. October. Congratulations is extended to Patrick ‘ Bonner’ Maher and the Tipperary Senior Hurlers on their fine performance over Waterford on Sunday last in the All-Ireland semi-final. Well done Bonner.

Bonner is out again in the All-Ireland under 21 semi-final along with Ciaran Haugh and manager Ken Hogan this coming Saturday 21st. in Tullamore and we extend the best of luck to all three and the team.
