Gratitude.

A mighty fine hoe-down was had by all who attended the Wild West Barn Dance at
The Ferry last Saturday night. A huge crowd came out in force decked to the
nines in their best wild west tucker to support Crumlin Childrens Hospital
Foundation and Research Centre. Everyone on the night was rewarded with a mouth
watering BBQ campside and an energetic performance by THE band of the moment The
JD’s who had the crowd swinging from the rafters. All agreed on the night that
the west is awake alive and kicking despite the sorry mess that the country is
in! The committee of Theresa Dunne Walker Ann Moore Deirdre Dermody Linda
Carty Orla Kelly and Mary Walsh are delighted to announce that the very generous
support of one and all resulted in a fantastic total of E4000 making its way to
Crumlin Kids to help sick children and their families. That would not have been
possible without a great gang of people volunteering their time and good spirit
to pull out all the stops so special thanks to you all you know who you are!
Sincere thanks is also extended to the following sponsors for amazing prizes
given the economic climate: The Muckross Park Hotel Killarney The Ferry Bar and
Restaurant Simon Dagg-Moorview Accountancy Practice Melissa Hogan-Eternal
Beauty & Skin Care Centre Portumna The Gauntlet Paint Ball Centre Terryglass
Pallas Karting Tynagh Turoe Pet Farm Loughrea Portumna Golf Club and Austin
Martin Electricians. So cowboys and cowgals be sure to hang your hats somewhere safe as we are planning to make this an annual event yeehaw!
The winner of the voucher for a stay in Muckross House Killarney was Bernadette McDonagh and lady luck was smiling on her twice that night as she also won the Best Dressed Lady (judged by the clapometer!) so she received a voucher for a pamper day sponsored by Eternal Beauty with Melissa Hogan. The best dressed man on the night was Steve West who won a days golfing kindly sponsored by Portumna Golf Club.
