Gratitude.

Former Parish Priest Fr. Joe Kennedy wrote the following message to the people of the parish. “I wish to take this opportunity to acknowledge with gratitude all your good wishes given in so many different ways since leaving you in September. It would be impossible and dangerous to name any individual or organization specially except to say I was overwhelmed by your generosity and your kind words of appreciation and encouragement. Apologies for not saying good-bye but I found it too difficult. I was glad of the opportunity to do so in a more relaxed atmosphere after leaving. Thanks to all who organized the different farewell functions and for your thoughtful gifts. Glad too to be able to make a contribution to the victims of the Pakistani Flood Relief Fund. Every good wishes to you all and thanks for making me feel so welcome in your midst over the past twelve years. I would like to wish Fr. Pat the very best and only hope that he will be as happy with you as I was. God Bless you all”. Fr. Joe added a footnote saying all are welcome to visit him in his house in Moneygall but not all together on the same day or night…
