Variety Group.
Lorrha Variety Group will stage the much acclaimed Michael J. Ginnelly comedy ‘A Wake In The West’ in St. Ruadhan’s Community Hall in Lorrha from 26th. to 28th. inclusive. The play is directed by Jim Hynes from Portumna. Doors open at 8.00p.m. curtains up at 8.30p.m. You are advised to come early.
Christmas Draw.
Lorrha Apostolic Work Society will be holding their Annual Christmas draw on Thursday night the 16th. December in Lorrha Community Hall. Tickets are now on sale throughout the parish priced at E2 per line. Please support the ticket sellers when they call to you.
Well Done.
Congratulations and well done to the pupils and staff on Redwood and Lorrha National School’s who received awards from North Tipperary Co. Council in the 2010 Tiobraid Alann – Pride of Place Competition in the Tidy Schools Category. Both schools have worked hard and continue to do so to gain and to keep their green flag status. The awards were presented on Monday night 15th. in the Civic Offices in Nenagh. Well done to all concerned.
Awards Keep Coming.
Many congratulations is extended once again to Lorrha Development Association who have been awarded the Arts Culture and Heritage award for 2010 which comes with a cheque for E100. The group were also awarded Cava’s top award to a voluntary organization that of Outstanding Achievement Award 2010 which also brought a cheque for 400 euro. The awards were presented to members of the group at a ceremony held in Borrisoleigh Community Hall on Friday night last. Lorrha Development Association wish to thank everyone who helped them over the past year to achieve such recognition which doesn’t come easily. The 25th. Anniversary year which is this year will certainly go down in the history books of the group as a most remarkable year for achievement for Lorrha Development as these latest awards comes hot on the heels of the Endeavor award from the National Tidy Towns Committee of three weeks ago. Well done to all the working members of the group and keep up the good work.

A Christmas Market will be held in St. Ruadhan’s Community Hall Lorrha on Sunday December 5th. commencing at 1.00p.m. There will be stalls galore selling all kinds of everything. So mark it in your diary December 5th. Lorrha Hall.

Congratulations and best wishes is extended to Margaret Kelly Rathcabbin on the occasion of her 90th. birthday. Margaret celebrated the occasion on Saturday last with her family and friends. Well done Margaret.
Another Win.
Congratulations is extended to the Lorrha girls who are members of Portumna Community School’s junior camogie team who powered their way past Ballinasloe on a scoreline of 10.12 to 2.0 in the second round of the championship. Well done girls.
Party Time.
A Christmas Party with a difference will take place on Saturday night 18th. December when Theresa & Barry Walker of The Ferry Inn Lorrha. They invite all to join them in a 50ft. St. Ruadhan’s Active Retirement Association.
We are holding a coffee afternoon in aid of North Tipperary Hospice on Wednesday 8th December 2010 from 2.30pm to 4.30pm in the Community Hall Lorrha. Please do come and join us for a cuppa and a chat as this is a very good cause. Many thanks to everyone for their support in the past and look forward to seeing you all on the 8th December.
