Lorrha Juniors who were defeated by 14 man Newport by two points in the final last week-end.

Lorrha Camogie.

The best of luck is extended to the Lorrha Junior camogie girls when they play Ballina in the county final on Saturday next 4th Nov. at 11.30am in The Ragg camogie pitch. The girls beat  Ballingarry 1.11 to 1.4 in the semi-final to reach the ultimate place in the championship. The girls and management would welcome your support and we wish them well and hope they can do the double and repeat their league performance.

Hallowe’en Holiday Fancy Dress Disco
A big Hallowe’en Holiday Fancy Dress Disco will be held in aid of Rathcabbin NS in Kellys Lounge  on Friday 3rd November 6-8.30pm. Sweetshop and raffle.  Music by DJ Ray. All witches ghouls and vampires welcome.

Long Tail Competition
Kellys Rathcabbin host the Annual Long Tail Competition and Game Barbeque on Saturday 4th November. Music by The Hogan Family. All welcome to this great traditional Rathcabbin night in memory of Eddie Clancy and PJ Gorman.

Birthday Celebrations.

Happy 95th birthday is extended to Kathleen Kennedy Rathcabbin and to Kathleen Houlihan Lorrha who both celebrated the occasion over the week-end with their families. Well done to both girls and many good wishes to you both for the future.

Sympathy

Rathcabbin Players wish to extend sympathy to playwrite Jimmy Keary on the death of his mother Eilish Carrigy who passed away on Thursday 26th.Oct.    Rathcabbin Players performed two of Keary’s plays “Too Close to Home” and “The Two loves of Gabriel Foley” and Jimmy and his mother travelled to Rathcabbin to view the productions and met up with all involved.  May she rest in peace.

Please take note that the Vigil Mass in Redwood Church on next Saturday night (4th November) will be at 7.30p.m.Usual Masses on Sunday (5th November) i.e. Lorrha at 10.00a.m. and Rathcabbin at 11.30a.m.

 

Well Done.

Well done to the parish girls Celine Guinan, Nicola and Emma Kelly who are playing U12 camogie with Shannon Rovers that won the U12 league final on Saturday last. Full time score Shannon Rovers 0-09 Brian Borus 1-01. Special congratulations to Celine who captained the side and well done to all the team and their management too.

Hard Luck.

Commiserations is extended to Joe, Adrian. Kieran and the Junior B team who were beaten by Newport in the North Tipp championship final on Saturday last on a scoreline of Newport 1.15 Lorrha 0.16. Hard luck lads.

Fundraising Table Quiz.

Lorrha Juvenile club are holding a fundraising table quiz on Moatefield on Saturday night 11th November at 8.00pm. Raffle and spot prizes on the night. Please support. Congratulations is extended to Donie Ryan, Derrinsallow, on winning the GAA lotto jackpot of €9,450. Well done Donie.

Winter De-Clutter.

When cleaning out your wardrobe to make room for the winter collection, please remember Lorrha Development/Tidy Towns who continue to collect unwanted clothes throughout the year. Items of clothing must be clean and dry and in good condition please and we can supply bags if you want. We can also collect to make it easy for you, just call (086) 8647166, (086) 8493595 or (087) 2601413 with your name and details. Please note we cannot accept Duvets, bedding, household linen, pillows, cushions, carpets, rugs and mats including bath toilet and shower mats soiled or wet clothing but good quality unwanted clothing for re-use (not recycling). All money raised from all fundraising ventures is used for the ongoing work around Lorrha Village which helps to keep one adult employed. Many thanks for your continued support.

Lorrha GAA

Junior: Hard luck to the Junior hurlers who were defeated 1-15 to 0-16 in the North Junior ‘B’ Hurling Championship Final in Nenagh on Saturday. The concession of a late goal was out undoing after fighting back following a slow start. Thank you to the players and mentors for their efforts this year which included a league title. Best of luck to Newport in the county series.

Under 21: Best of luck to the Under 21 hurlers who play Portroe in the North ‘B’ semi-final in Dolla this Sunday at 2.30pm.

Fundraiser: The clubs 2500-to-1 fundraising draw with a prize fund of €10,000 will go ahead on Saturday 2ndDecember. We are urging all club members to make one final push to get the tickets sold for what is a vital fundraiser for the club. Your support would be appreciated.

Juvenile Table Quiz: Lorrha Juvenile Club are holding their annual fundraising table quiz in Moatfield on Saturday 11th November at 8.00pm.

Scor: The North final of Scor na nOg takes place in Borrisoleigh on Friday 17thNovember. Anyone wishing to take part in competitions including Figure Dancing, Solo Singing, Recitation/Storytelling; Ballad Group; Stage Presentation; Instrumental Music; Set Dancing and Table Quiz should contact any senior or juvenile club officer.
