 Ladies Night Out.

The annual Christmas ladies night out in “The Shed” in Lorrha will take place this year on Saturday night the 13th December at 8.00pm. This is a fun night out for all ladies who wish to have a good enjoyable time before the serious business of Christmas sets in. So pamper yourself with a lovely meal and then dance the night away with D.J. Ray. Booking is advisable so if you are interested contact Lil on (087) 6057363.

Fundraising Draw.

Lorrha Apostolic Work Society will be holding their annual fundraising draw in Lorrha Community Hall on Thursday night December 11th at 8p.m. In the meantime, ticket sellers are out and about and will be calling to you. Tickets are €2 per line. Please support.

Church News.

Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament every Thursday from 10am to 10pm in Rathcabbin Church. We invite all parishioners to come and stay a while in the presence of Jesus. Fr Gerard McCarthy will give his final talk on the Eucharist, on  Wednesday night 26th November at 7.30pm in Pastoral Centre, Nenagh.  Contact, Srs. 2015 Calendar.

The 2015 Lorrha Parish Calendar is on sale throughout the parish and in Portumna, in time to post to loved one’s for Christmas, especially those living away from home. It also serves as a lovely keepsake. The calendar is packed from front cover to back with photographs from the past and the present. Proceeds from the sale of the calendar is used towards the upkeep of Lorrha Village. If you would like to have a copy posted to you please call (086) 8647166 or email info@54.171.167.182

Winter De-Clutter.

Lorrha Development/ Tidy Towns continue with unused clothes collection throughout the Autumn months. De-clutter your wardrobe, attack your attic, recycle all unwanted/unused items of clothing to make room for your Winter collection. We will accept any kind of bag or in bags provided by the committee. We can collect your unwanted items. Just call or text  (086) 8647166, (086) 8493595 or (086) 8355405 with your name and details. We appreciate your support. All money raised from all fundraising ventures is used for the ongoing work around Lorrha Village which helps to keep two adults employed.

Christmas Market & Auction.

Lorrha Development Association / Tidy Towns will be holding their Annual fundraising Christmas Market and Auction on Sunday December 7th in Lorrha Hall. There is still space available for tables for the market.To book a table can contact Liz on (090) 9747893 or Mary on (090) 9747196. Anyone wishing to donate items of fuel, fodder, meal etc. simple anything that can be sold or auctioned, please contact Louis on (086) 8493595 or Rose on (086) 8647166. All donations gratefully received. Santa will be paying his usual visit and will arrive at 3pm. Tickets are on sale throughout the parish for a food hamper, biscuits and wine. Your support is much appreciated.  Children in the three schools in the parish are asked to compete in designing a slogan for Lorrha Development. The winning slogan will receive a cash prize.

New Year Course.

Landscaping & Horticulture course starting 5th January 2015 in St. Rynagh’s College of Further Education, Banagher. Now recruiting! FETAC Level 4 Major Award in Horticulture- 6 month full time course- SOLAS training allowance will apply. To register for the course, contact Monica Larkin on 087 6835561

Bogs Action Group.

A victory celebration in Treacy’s, Killimor will be held on Saturday night 29th November. Guests of honour will be Luke “Ming” Flanagan MEP and Michael Fitzmaurice TD. Cllr. Des Joyce will also be in attendance. Music by Joe Connors and Shillelagh. Everybody is welcome to our celebration. Our elected representatives are standing with the people.

Music in the Home.

There will be live music and dancing with Kieran White on next Sunday, 30th November, at 2 o’clock in St. Kieran’s Care Home, Rathcabbin. Refreshments for all. Everyone welcome.

Collection Point.

Anyone wishing to donate their unwanted clothes, bags, shoes, belts can bring them along to the collection point which will be available at the Christmas Market and Auction in Lorrha on December 7th.

Redwood School.

Congratulations to all the children that took part in the Stephanie Power School of Irish Dancing Feis on Sunday last.
