Late Dympna Guinan.

The death occurred on Tuesday 25th February of Dympna Guinan, Redwood, Lorrha. Dympna who was 82, passed away suddenly at her home as she was preparing to go to town with her son Frankie. Nee Fahy, she was predeceased by her husband Frank in 1995 and by her sister Ita.

Always smiling and in god humour, Dympna was a very outgoing person who liked to meet people as well as contributing to her community. From an early stage she was involved with the parish branch of the I.C.A. and was a founder member of the Lorrha Apostolic Work Society. She also joined the Lorrha Active Retirement when the group was formed in the parish some years ago where she learned how to paint which she took great joy from. She enjoyed her involvement in parish happenings and was willing to help when she could, making many friends along the way. A kind and gentle lady she was also a caring and loving mother, she dedicated her life to her husband and children and in later life she enjoyed the company of her grandchildren very much. Farming all her life with her late husband Frank, Dympna loved her flowers too and callers to her home were inspired by her ‘green fingers’. Dympna will be missed by all who knew her but in particular by her family. Sympathy is extended to her sons Larry, Paul, Frankie, daughters Anna, Breda, Dympna, sisters Molly and Teresa, grandchildren, sons-in-law, daughters-in-law, sister-in-law, brothers-in-law, relatives, neighbours and a large circle of friends on their great loss. After funeral Mass in St. Ruadhan’s Church Lorrha on Thursday morning 27th burial took place in the adjoining cemetery. May she rest in peace.
