Tom Receives His Reward For Sport.

Well Done Tom.

Congratulations to Tom Lambe Rathcabbin who was the recipient of a Sean Gael award last week-end. He first played for Lorrha seniors in 1939 before the team was regarded back to Intermediate in 1940. Tom was a key player six years later when Lorrha won the Intermediate title. From being a forward in that team Tom played at right wing back in 1948 when Lorrha won the North Senior title for the third time. He continued playing well into the 1950s and was also a selector on various Lorrha teams. Tom was also well known as a athlete of considerable renown and was a member of the Lorrha Junior team that won the County Championship in 1944. Tom celebrated his 91st. birthday last August and is still a regular attendee at Lorrha games. Tom is pictured here on the occasion of his 90th. birthday in August 2008. Well done Tom.
