Friars Park Update

Work continues on the new Friars Park in Lorrha Village. The tarmac, railing, seats, picnic tables, lawns, shrubs, trees etc. is now complete. Painting is underway under the expert eyes and hands of Liz, Ute, Carmel and Harry. A view from Redwood Castle

Redwood Castle was built by Normans in 1210. It was in the posession of the MacEgans from 1350 to 1650 when it was destroyed. The restored building is once more owned by kinsfolk of the MacEgans and was restored with great love and interest by the late Michael Egan of Castlebar. View Gallery

North Premier U/12 Finals

Lorrha hosted the first North Premier Under 12 finals on Saturday July 30th. Eight teams competed,Toomevara, Roscrea, Shannon Rovers, Burgess, Moneygall, Borrisokane, Nenagh Eire Og and Kilruane with the teams led out onto the field by a lone piper. Here is a small sample of the day.View Gallery
