Children from the parish who started school on September 1st in Lorrha (top) Redwood (middle) and Rathcabbin National Schools.  And they were all happy out with not a tear to be seen well not with the children anyhow…..

Prayer Vigil.

You are invited to join a monthly prayer vigil that takes place on the 3rd. Friday of each month in Cluain Chiarain Clonmacnois. The prayer intention is for the renewal of the gift of faith and the evangelization of Ireland. The vigil begins with Mass at 10pm leading to adoration until 3.15am Saturday. Accommodation available if needed just bring a sleeping bag. Please contact Dave on (085) 7746763 or Sean on (087) 8175227. The next vigial is on Friday 16th. September.

Casting Day.

Offline film festival will hold an open casting day on Sunday September 18th from 12 noon to 6p.m. in Birr Theatre and Arts Centre for up coming short films in association with the offline film festival. Successful films will be shown in the film festival and in the Galway film Fleadh.

Commiserations.

We extend commiserations to our parish man Patrick “Bonner” Maher and the Tipperary team who lost their fight to retain the Liam McCarthy cup for the second year. Hard luck Bonner but head up there’s plenty of life left in this Tipp team yet..

Mass in Redwood Castle.

Coleesa Egan invites all to the Annual Mass at Redwood Castle on Thursday night September 15th at 8.00pm. All are welcome.

Come Dancing.

Dancing continues in the newly extended Lorrha GAA clubhouse on Friday night with Nitewaves providing the entertainment from 9.30p.m. to 12.30a.m.

Adult Classes.

North Tipperary VEC are providing classes for adults who wish to improve their reading writing spelling basic maths and computers for everyday living. Students can work on a one to one basis with a volunteer tutor or with a small group. Please contact Liz on (067) 31845 or (087) 7868750 for further information.

We extend the best of luck to the Lorrha Camogie girls who play Clonoulty in the Intermediate County final on Saturday coming September 10th. Throw in is at 6.00p.m. in the Ragg and the girls would welcome your support.

St. Ruadhan’s Active Retirement Association.

The Committee would like to remind all its members that we will now be reopening after the summer break on Wednesday 21st September 2011 at 2.30pm in the Community Hall Lorrha. For all members going on the short break to Wexford on Sunday 11th September please note that the coach will pick up outside Lorrha Hall at 11.00am and then at the Pike at 11.15am. There is a planned stop on the way for tea and sandwiches. Enjoy the break and see you all back at our weekly sessions.
