Lorrha Prepares For VC Medal Visit.

Martin O’Meara’s VC Medal will visit Lorrha for a week-end before it is returned to Australia. This is indeed wonderful news for the relatives of Martin who have long wished to see this happen but never thought it actually would.  The medal was brought to Ireland last week, the first time in Australian history that such a medal was allowed leave the Country. It was on display on Thursday last in the Australian Embassy at a very special ceremony, and then on Friday morning it was placed on display in the National Museum of Ireland. It will remain there for 12 months.
