North Tipperary Ploughing.

An important meeting will take place in the Yanks Bar Borrisokane on Wed 17th at 9.30 P.M. All competitors and workers to be present.

We wish the best of luck to our National Ploughing Championship competitors who compete in the forthcoming ploughing championships.

Congratulations to out secretary Denis Cahalan on his appointment as a head supervisor at the National Ploughing Championships. Well done Denis.

Sympathy.

Sympathy is extended to the brothers, sisters, relatives and friends of P.J. O’Meara, late of Lisgreen, who died in England recently.  May he rest in peace.

Cemetery Mass.

Mass will be held in Lorrha Cemetery on Sunday 28th September at 10.00am, (weather permitting). All who have loved-ones buried in the graveyard are invited to attend. A retiring collection will be held for the future upkeep of the cemetery.

Autumn De-Clutter.

Lorrha Development/ Tidy Towns continue with unused clothes collection throughout the Autumn months. De-clutter your wardrobe, attack your attic, recycle all unwanted/unused items of clothing to make room for your Autumn collection. We will accept any kind of bag or in bags provided by the committee. We can collect your unwanted items. Just call or text  (086) 8647166, (086) 8493595 or (086) 8355405 with your name and details. We appreciate your support. All money raised from all fundraising ventures is used for the ongoing work around Lorrha Village which helps to keep three adults employed.

2015 Lorrha Parish Calendar.

Lorrha Development Association / Tidy Towns are now offering space for advertising in the 2015 edition of the Annual Lorrha Parish Calendar. Anyone interested in taking an advert is asked to contact (086) 8647166 or (086) 8493595 as soon as possible please.

Gratitude.

North Tipperary Hospice wish to express their thanks for the money donated by all those who attended the BBQ and music night held recently in McCormack of Abbeyville. They have informed us that a total of €332 was in the box when opened.  Lorrha Development Association / Tidy Towns also made a contribution to the Hospice which came from the used clothes collection which continues to operate throughout the year. We offer our sincere thanks to one and all and to our many sponsors who donated food for the BBQ and music on the night.

Shorelines Festival.

The official Opening of Portumna’s Shorelines Festival by Galway city’s Des Kenny takes place 7.30pmThursday, 18th September at the Irish Workhouse Centre. This free event welcomes all the community, artists, sponsors and friends. Music by Omna Singers and No More Mossies.

Open Day.

Portumna College of Further Education (Old VEC) St.Brigid’s Road open day and enrolment on Wednesday 17th September from 10am to 7pm.
