Members of Lorrha Development / Tidy Towns with the Co-Operation of Lorrha School pupils, staff and parents carried out the Annual Spring Clean of the village on April 9th.

 

Church News.
Divine Mercy Mass will be celebrated in St. Brendan’s Church, Birr on Divine Mercy Sunday (April 27th)
at 4.00pm. Divine Mercy Chaplet at 3.45pm. All Welcome.

The National Vigil for life will take place on Saturday 3rd May from 3 to 4pm in Merrion Square, Dublin. Your participation will show that pro-life people, far from losing heart, are re-energised and more committed than ever.
Recent Wedding.
Congratulations and many good wishes is extended to Peter King, Clonmona, Rathcabbin on his marriage to Emily Martin in Salthill, Galway on April 11th 2014. Well done Peter and Emily and you are wished every happiness and all the best for the future.
Spring De-Clutter.
Lorrha Development/ Tidy Towns continue with unused clothes collection throughout the Spring months. De-clutter your wardrobe, attack your attic, recycle all unwanted/unused items of clothing to make room for your Spring collection. We will accept any kind of bag or in bags provided by the committee at (086) 8647166. We can collect your unwanted items. All money raised from all fundraising ventures is used for the ongoing work around Lorrha Village which helps to keep three adults employed.

Getting Ready For Planting.
Members of Lorrha Development have commenced weeding and cleaning up flower beds and pots around the village getting ready for planting flowers and shrubs. If anyone would like to help please call 9747893 or 9747196 and leave your name and phone number. You’re call will be returned. All support is much appreciated.
News From Lorrha School.
Children from 2nd to 6th class took part in the annual Spring Clean recently in co-operation with Lorrha Development / Tidy Towns committee. Many thanks to the parents who came out to help on the day. The pupils worked in groups in and around the village picking litter. This is our third year working alongside the local Tidy Towns group. Well done to all.
Football Trials.
We congratulate Jack Moran who was successful in the North Tipperary football trials which took place recently. Well done Jack and every good wish.
Easter Party.
Many thanks to the Parents Association for organising the Easter Party recently and the Easter Bunny who turned up with Easter eggs was a big hit and enjoyed by all. Well done.

St. Ruadhan’s Active Retirement.

Regional Tea Dance on Tue. 29th April in Woodlands Hotel, Adare, at 1pm. Adm. €20. Contact Barry on 0868143002. Our social meetings continue every Wednesday in Lorrha Community Hall at 2.30pm.

Camogie.

Junior A League:
Well done to the Junior girls who had another great win on Friday evening against Silvermines in the 4th round of the League. The girls have now four wins from 4 & are through to the League Semi which takes place on Saturday May the 3rd in the Ragg & have one league game left to play which is on the coming Sunday the 27th against Burgess/Duharra in Burgess @ 3pm. Final score: Lorrha 3-18 Silvermines 0-07

Under 14 B Championship:
Hard Luck to the U14 Girls who lost out to a strong Roscrea side on Last Tuesday evening.

U16 C Championship:
Group 1: Ballina, Kildangan, Moneygall, Shannon Rovers, Lorrha Round 1 *24th April Lorrha- Bye. Round 2 *1st May Shannon Rovers Vs Lorrha (away game). Round 3 *TBC Lorrha Vs Kildangan (home game).Round 4 *TBC Ballina Vs Lorrha (away game). Round 5 *TBC Lorrha Vs Moneygall (home game)

U12 League:
Hard Luck to the Lorrha girls who had a narrow one point loss on Saturday against Portroe in Portroe. The girls played very well, worked very hard as a team and really enjoyed playing the very close game. Final score: Lorrha 3-02 Portroe 3-03 Goals for Lorrha Avie Darcy with 2 & Hannagh O’Meara with 1 goal. The girls play Kildangan this Wednesday evening the 23rd at home in Moatfield @ 7pm and then play Roscrea on this Saturday in Roscrea @ 12 midday. Best of Luck to the girls & come and support the girls!

A brunette, a redhead and a blonde get captured and are placed before a firing squad.
They are about to be executed when the brunette says “Look….Hurricane” and she points and gets away.
The redhead girl says “Look….Tornado” points and gets away.
Finally the blonde tries to do the same thing but she shouts “Look…FIRE”.
