 MEET THE CAST OF POOR BEAST:

The cast of Rathcabbin Players production of Poor Beast in the Rain. Marguerite Walsh (Molly), Tadhg Nevin (Joe), Eamon Smyth (Steven), Fiona Kennedy (Eileen), Kevin Kennedy (Georgie) while seated in front is Ray Kennedy ( Speaker), Brendan Dolan (Director), Pat Kennedy (Danger Doyle). The play runs for the last four nights, Thursday 30th to Sunday February 2nd. Curtains up at 8.30pm sharp. Admission €10 and €5. Booking essential on (087) 2360096.

Last Chance.

Rathcabbin Players will be on stage for the last time this week-end with  ‘Poor Beast in the Rain’ by playwright Billy Roche. If you haven’t seen this group in action then hurry and book  as seats are filling up fast. The dates are Thursday 30th Friday 31st. Sat. 1st Feb. Sunday 2nd Feb. in Rathcabbin  Hall and the number to call is (087) 2360096 between 6 and 9pm.

Sympathy.

Rathcabbin Players extend sympathy to their Director Brendan Dolan, on the death of his mother Kitty Dolan (nee Bell) Cuba Avenue, Banagher which occurred on Saturday 25th. After funeral Mass in St. Rynagh’s Church on Tuesday 28th burial took place in the local cemetery. May she rest in peace.

Church News.

Saturday 1st February is the Feast of St. Brigid, 2nd Feb. Feast of the Presentation of the Lord, 3rd Feb. Feast of St. Blaise. Blessing of throats and candles (for Church and home use) at all Masses this week-end.

Unwanted Clothes Collection.

Lorrha Development / Tidy Towns continue with unused clothes collection throughout the winter months. We can collect your unwanted items. Just call or text  (086) 8493595/ (086) 8647166/ (087) 2601413 with your name and details. All money raised from all fundraising ventures is used for the continued work around Lorrha Village.

Reminder.

St. Ruadhan’s Active Retirement Association are holding their Annual General Meeting on Wednesday, 5th February 2014 in the Community Hall Lorrha at 2.30pm.  We would ask all members to attend if possible as this is your opportunity to appoint our committee for the forthcoming year. Please note that the annual membership is now due. We are pleased to see so many of our members attending our weekly meetings.

Social Dancing:

Social dancing continues in the GAA Centre this Friday night to the music of Pat and Richie. Dancing from 9.30pm to 12.30am.

Mad March Mock Wedding!

Here Comes the Bride….Lorrha Camogie Club will be hosting the ‘Mad March Mock Wedding’ on Saturday, 8th of March at 8.30pm so keep this date free! It will be the Camogie Club’s main fundraiser for the year and tickets are now on sale and can be got from the Camogie panel, committee, Maher’s shop in Lorrha and Kelly’s Shop, Rathcabbin. Tickets are €10 each for ages 14+ which includes you entry and into a draw to win 1st Prize: Luxury Night away for two. 2nd prize: €100 Voucher for David Broderick Sports Therapy, very kindly donated by David and 3rd Prize: Meal for two.
Also on the night wedding ceremony antics with MC on the night the great Hubbie Hogan-say no more!! special guests, a lavish buffet, music and much more!!  It will be the maddest Wedding of 2014!!

Clothing Collection:
We are having a clothing recycling drive in aid of Lorrha Camogie Club. Please donate any unwanted clothes that are clean and dry and in big black bin bags. Clean dry Clothes-Belts-Shoes- Bags- Books, NO Bed clothes-curtains-pillows-duvets-cushions or household goods. So get collecting all your old unwanted clothes! The collection day will be at the end of March but we can collect bags at any time off people. Registration Night:
The Club will be holding a registration night in early February. All players from underage up to adult players need to be registered to be allowed to train and play.
