Recent Wedding.

The beautiful wedding of Fiona Maher, daughter of Eamon and Nuala, Rathcabbin, and   Raymond O’Brien son of  Kieran and Una, Carrig, took place on Saturday 19th October in Our Lady of the Most Holy Redeemer Church Redwood.  The bride was attended by her sisters Ciara and Maria and by her friends Claire Hough and Sinead Ryan while the grooms men were Steven O’Brien, brother, Niall Rigney, cousin, and the brides two brothers Eamon and Kevin Maher. Two little friends  of the couple Padraig Egan and Caitlin Mooney carried the duty of page boy and flower girl respectively and did a fine job too.  Fr. Pat Mulcahy P.P was the celebrant while the ceremony was enhanced with the lovely Church music provided by Richard Needun and Niamh Lyons.

Lorrha Variety Group.

Rehearsals are well under way in Lorrha for the Variety Group’s latest production which will take place at the end of the month. Canaries, written by Bernard Farrell, is a very Irish play about a very Irish group on holidays and audience members will recognise a few characters they have come across on their own holiday experiences. It is arguably Farrell’s funniest play and is centered around three couples who go to the Canaries on a package holiday in a bid to escape their everyday surroundings. Everyone arrives with an appetite for the sun, sea and sand but things soon start to go wrong, with hilarious consequences, as the weather isn’t what is expected and the holiday-makers end up having a holiday that they will never forget, but not necessarily for the right reasons!  Keep a date free in your diary at the end of the month, the play will open in Lorrha Hall on Friday 29th November and will run for three nights only.

Lorrha Camogie.

U12s
The U12 Girls put up a fantastic fight on Saturdsy in the County Semi Final in the Ragg Camogie Grounds against a strong Brian Boro side. It was a horrible day for camogie and conditions were poor but the girls gave everything and never gave up which is a great sign of a team! The girls were very unlucky for a few goals but every girl gave everything and they will be back no Doubt as they are a great group of talented and well behaved girls which is a credit to themselves and their parents. Lorrha 1-00 Brian Boro 3-04.It has being a great year for underage Camogie in the parish with this being their second contested Semi Final this year and girls breaking through with Tipperary underage Camogie so the future is bright!
