First Aid Course.

A practical First Aid course will be organized by the Nenagh branch of the Irish Red Cross on Saturday 13th and Sunday 14th of July in the Pastoral Centre, Church Road, Nenagh from 10am until 5pm each day. The cost is €80 per person. Conact Caroline on (083) 1423062. Training continues every second Thursday. New members welcome.

Hard Luck.

Commiserations to Caoimhe and Muire Kennedy and the Tipperary Intermediate team who took a heavy beating to Meath in the second round of the Intermediate championship on Saturday last in Ratoath.  Meath were a much more physical and experienced side and were deserved winners in the end. Hopefully Tipperary can get their winning formula back on track when they meet Galway in two weeks time.  The  Tipperary Senior team were also unlucky with their championship game against a more determined and hungrier Offaly outfit in Banagher last Saturday. The girls in Blue and Gold can still make a quarter final appearance if they beat Dublin in two weeks time, while Cork stand in the way of a semi-final appearance for Offaly. See full match report elsewhere in this paper.

Social Dancing.

Social dancing continues in the GAA clubhouse on Friday night with music provided by Sam Doherty.  Dancing from 9.30 to 12.30.

Smile Awhile and Laugh a Little Every Day.

It’s So Hot In Ireland

…..the birds have to use potholders to pull the
worms out of the ground

…..the trees are whistling for the dogs.

…..the best parking place is determined by shade
instead of distance

…..hot water comes from both taps.

…..you can make sun tea instantly.

…..you learn that a seat belt buckle makes a pretty
good branding iron.

…..you discover that in July it only takes two fingers
to steer your car.

…..you discover that you can get sunburned through
your car window.

…..you actually burn your hand opening the car door.

…..your biggest motorcycle wreck fear is, “What if I
get knocked out and end up lying on the road and cook to death”?

…..you realize that tarmac has a liquid stage

…..the potatoes cook underground, so all you have to
do is pull one out and add butter.

…..the cows are giving evaporated milk.

…..farmers are feeding their chickens crushed ice to
keep them from laying boiled eggs.

BUT IT’S SO DRY IN Missouri that the Baptists are
starting to baptize by sprinkling,

the Methodists are using wet-wipes,

the Presbyterians are giving rain checks,

and the Catholics are praying for the wine to turn back
into water!
