LORRHA NOTES.
RAGS Golf Outing.
Rags golfing society are holding their next golf outing is on the 13th June in Nenagh – tee-time 8.45am to 10.15am.
We Need You.
Your help is required for just one hour for the next few weeks to help with work evenings in Lorrha commencing this Wednesday evening the 10th. from 7.00p.m. and you can come at whatever time suits you. but it’s important that more people come and help. We will be meeting also on June 17th. and 24th. starting point outside the hall and if this is not suitable another evening can be arranged with a second group by text or calling your preferred date to (086) 8647166. (if sending a text do leave your name). Please bring garden tools. Judging of the tide towns has now commenced and our village will be visited at a time and date that we won’t know about and marks awarded for our efforts. It would help a lot if every resident in the village kept the area outside their homes litter and weed free please. So do please come out and help as by doing so you show your pride in your place.
Fun Day Thanks.
Lorrha Development Association wish to offer sincere thanks to all who helped in whatever way with the successful fun day on Sunday last. The weather held up and everyone enjoyed the event. Many thanks to one and all.
Fundraising Golf Classic
Portumna Social Services are holding their fundraising golf classic in Portumna Golf Course on Thursday June 11th. 2.30 p.m. to 5.00p.m. and again the following day Friday June 12th. 7.00p.m. to last tee at 5.00p.m. Registration enquiries to Portumna Golf Course at (090) 9741059. Teams of – Four Ladies Gents or Mixed 18th Hole Stableford Competition. 1st Prize – Plasma TVs 2nd Prize – Ladies or Gents Bicycles 3rd Prize – Digital Cameras 4th Prize – Garden Sets 5thPrize – Ladies or Gents Watches. In aid of Extension to the Day Care Centre Day Room. In the event that people cannot play then Greens or Tee Boxes can be sponsored. Or indeed any form of help towards the building costs will be greatly appreciated.
Portumna Social Services Committee are a voluntary group with charitable status which runs a Day Care Centre in Portumna for Senior Citizens. They also operate their own Mini-bus service to bring the elderly to the Centre for meals and social activities. The purpose of the fundraiser is to provide a badly needed extension to the Day Room. The catchment area for those attending from North Tipperary is Rathcabbin Lorrha and Terryglass areas.
Pilgrimage.
A bus will leave Emmet Sq. Birr at 7.00a.m. on Saturday June 20th. and travel via Banagher Cloghan Ferbane and Athlone for Lough Derg. To book a seat call Phyllis Judge on (090) 6454121.

Parent & Toddler.
The Rathcabbin Parent Toddler and Baby Group have organized Music and Dance sessions for Tuesday June 9th from 11am – 12.30. Parents/grandparents/carers/childminders are welcome to come along with the children and have some fun! St. Ruadhan’s Active Retirement Association.
On Saturday 13th June 2009 there will be a Social Evening in Lorrha Community Hall from 9.00pm till late. Music will be provided by Richie Bourke and Pat Conlon. Light refreshments will be served and everyone is welcome.
